I sit in a block in which I am surrounded by season ticket holders...I would say about 12 of us...Some I know quite well, others I nod at and occasionally grab when we score.. None of them went on Sunday (they are all far more sensible than I am) But every one of those seats were sold...to Tourists!!...The 4 to my right were Scandinavian,..the two in front Italian...and the two large lads to my left did not speak English, and could not go a half a match without a hot dog...which both needed to go together to get. I felt a bit of a fool when clapping to Pigbag.. and.you could hear a pin drop when I responded to the announcer saying "Come on you Supa" ...and I answered at the top of my voice "Hoopsa"...one of the Scandavian girls giggled and smiled. I was up and down like (fill in word here) during the match The large lads went for first hotdog at 10 minutes.. toilet at 40 minutes...came back went for a coke just before second half....and had another hot dog at 80 minutes...as said both went together at all times...odd behaviour!!. The Italians were watching a footy match on their i- phone in the second half...(who blames them) but who can get that good a reception at the top of the loft ....I can't. I was so hemmed in...and as no one really cared everyone stayed to the bitter end..eating, drinking , watching movies...I was stuck. As I left I said sardonically..."Did you enjoy that " to the Scandinavian lad sitting next to me..."yes he said we like English football"...He is lucky he is not dead So please fellow MU seasonticket holders...please never do that again....I need you
Sorry to say but I won't be going to another cup game again unless they get to a much later stage or have multiple seasons of decent performances to draw me back. No time soon will I be going. You're on your own, luv.
All I can think of is that it doesn't apply for cup games? Not a ****ing lot seems to apply to cup games!!
Don't think it applies to cup games. The other thing could be Season ticket holders can sell their tickets to people via the club, but like I said I don't think it applies to cup games especially when we never win any.
I thought this was going to be a thread about your battle to give up the columbian marching powder Beth.
Totally understand your frustration Beth However, I was one of the many absent season ticket holders (albeit in SAR) on Sunday, I just needed a break. I've done all the league games this season, and many of these have been very hard work to watch, not to mention the cost of doing so As soon as I heard we were drawn at home to SUFC I could think of nothing apart from an away win. Though I had expected this to be as a result of Rednapp wheeling out a second string as opposed to the near full first team that played yesterday What was particularly interesting was the reaction of football supporting colleagues in the office today. To say that there was little interest in the FAC was hardly an overstatement. It is hardly helped by the BBC effectively showing a live PL game (Arsenal v Hull) - not exactly "the magic of the cup"! Having said all that I'll be back on PL duty at Burnley on Saturday..........
Lol you nutter. I nearly choked on my dinner. You have the same sense of humor to me! I thought the same thing but did not have the guts to post it, well done!!!
You know, the BBC actually advertised that game along the lines of "now the FA Cup gets interesting with the big boys of the EPL coming in." I was so annoyed when I saw the advert. It seemed to actually suggest that it wasn't worth watching until now.
Know what you mean Beth. In the Lower Loft, after all the problems this season, on Sunday there were loads of tourists taking photographs. And they didn't have kids in the so called Family Stand.
There was so little atmosphere... I really do not blame anyone for not coming on Sunday by the way....I was just "amused" by the "tourists"...and how they spent so much time not involved, eating drinking and being total disrupting
I wonder if Sheffield United will be up for it. Seems like a bit of a slap in the face to "slaughter a quality PL team" (That is, I believe how it has been written up) for a cold miserable afternoon In Lancashire against another lot who are"regrouping" or "taking a breather" in League 1. They must be gutted.
by the sounds of it had it not been for the tourists the place would have been empty who would have bought the hot dogs then
