The result of continued endeavour By the aesthete, the strong and the clever Is despite Lenny's hope That we'd no longer cope This thread may continue for ever
This thread might have slipped away, And then we'd have failed Beppe, Recall how we clappéd, Our favourite slaphead, We must endeavour to post every day.
On Christmas Day I found Beppe's thread was not round But Leo just for you I found it on page two So here it is back safe and sound.
Our posh Auntie Mary is heppy Sat next to a quite chatty cheppy I've poured out their wines So I'm off to write lines Sending good Christmas wishes to Beppe
How could we have been so remiss To let Beppe in an abyss Yet with wonderful knack Our Charlie brought him back For that he deserves a big kiss
Well Leo what can I say You're poem it made my day For a legend such as you It was as minor thing to do But the kiss I'll keep at bay
Though our limericks don't always scan There's nowt like a true Watford fan Even though he's a goner We continue to honour The lord of the Sannino clan
Today's the last of the year, And Beppe's thread is still here So let's hope in Twenty Fifteen We'll all be as keen To ensure it does't disappear
Bu**er Charlie - I was watching it drop down the page and it only had two more other threads to come along and it would have gone to page 2 and maybe forever into obscurity. Perhaps I will have to post on a couple of dozen or so old threads and satrt other new ones to make it happen
A limerick takes some compiling But the content is often beguiling We know Beppe agrees That we're just out to please And make sure that Leo keeps smiling
Beppe's thread was beginning to fall Thank God, did I hear Leo call? Well we're not up for that We'll continue to chat And a Happy New Year to you all.
O this hapless Sannino thread One thing just has to be said Charlie is fearless Theo is peerless Without them this would surely be dead
Nothing's sounder than good bricks and mortar More loved than a good son or daughter But the thing we miss most Is the man we all toast It's the manager over the water
