I couldn't care less about the FA cup this season - and I suspect, subconsciously anyway, neither could our players. What worries me more is that Harry says he currently has no plans or options in the transfer market. With TF preoccupied in Indonesia, you have to wonder whether the window will pass us by without vital reinforcement in certain positions ( and I don't buy his reasoning that it's impossible to find appropriate players, even loans. I recall Pulis strengthening Palace hugely in the Jan window.)

My perception of Palace and WBA is that they had pace and talent, both underused. Now, under new management, these should be harnessed. But for us, we have more limited talent (some honourable exception for Austin, Fer and Green ) and not much pace (except Hoillett and Phillips who aren't exhibiting talent presently).

We need this window. I'm sure we all fully appreciate TF's responsibilities at this incredibly sad and problematic time over in the Far East. But speaking selfishly as an R's supporter, I hope he delegates some of his responsibilities (say, Amit and one of his partners for QPR work) rather than trying to do everything himself at all levels

Burnley have less points than us and are are the most under-funded PL team by a country mile and yet I cannot find a single factor that points toward us getting a sniff on Saturday.
    • Burnley on the up in recent games
    • Zero points away from home so far
    • Totally lacklustre performances over the Xmas period
    • Owner distracted during critical transfer window
    • Embarrassing cup exit fresh in our minds
I could go on but I feel depresion coming on. Can anyone give me a reason to think positively about the game?

We will win away one day, maybe we'll get lucky Saturday.
If we going to beat anyone away in this League, Burnley are a better bet than most.
It's time for another Austin goal.
An OBZ, Hoilett, Barton, Vargas, Henry, Dunne, Clint, Caulker, Isla, or Ned goal are all way overdue and must come soon, could be Saturday.
Fer is starting to look like he thinks he can score, so could be one from him too.
Green is well due to come up for a corner in stoppage time, wrist in the winner, and no official will see it.
