Bloody well written article and I would imagine it sums up the feelings of most City fans especially those that regularly travel to away games.
Bournemouth away is not a must win they are playing brilliantly this season as long as we keep our home wins and +gd going I won't panic we have 22 games left to fix things & demanding we beat the Cherries is a bit daft.
That's because they finally finished dualling the A11. Otherwise the stage coach from Truro would still have a fortnight's travel ahead of it
I can understand the logic of this article, but I don't agree with all of it's conclusions. Has our away form been that abysmal? 5 wins, 2 draws, and 5 losses isn't abysmal, IMO. Neil Adams reshaped the team for the Championship and a more attacking style. Unfortunately, some of the players who came down from the PL thought their abilities would allow them to walk this league. This hasn't been the case because other teams, with more moderate skills levels, have been organised over the season to make the most of their collective talents (in much the way City did in the early 90s). Our own team did so as well in League One and the Championship in recent years through synergy (a collection of players achieving more as a group than their individual abilities would indicate). This is what we have to get back to. Grasping around for a messiah manager isn't going to do that.
The games won away being counted on both hands in the 3 seasons in the Prem stat was a tad harsh ,as Adams only had 2 of those and managed a draw at Chelsea.
I agree with your comments Rick and as ever feel that some of our colleagues over-react and lose the sense of proportion when it comes to expectations. I am a great believer in the team spirit and PL was our best recent example of that talent. NA fell short and it is not something that can be easily brought in as what works at one club does not always translate at another - PL at Villa for example.
