As Gerrard has announced he's leaving at the end of the season, you'll be closing this thread at the end of the season, n'est-ce pas?
Would be quite funny if he does leave at the end of the season and then pool went on to win the prem next season. You can imagine the threads now about "Was SG a jinx" or "SG always held us back". The best would be "SG was a bottle merchant who always choked when we came close to winning the league".
Slippy says he will go to the Fat yank league at end of season. He admits the Prem is to hard for him now
Gerrard: “I wish I’d met Brendan when I was 24 because I think I’d be sitting here talking about a lot of titles that we’d won together."
Rodgers was at Chelsea when Gerrard was 24. Maybe he means he wished he'd left Liverpool for Chelsea.
Good point. So, in one sentence Gerrard confirms two things the rest of us already knew. That Benitez was utterly ****e and that to win a title he should have gone to Chelsea. Nice one Steeeevie.
Why? This thread has never been about appreciating Gerrard as a footballer. It would be a lot shorter if it was. This thread is all about Gerrard the man. The legend. The man who could never dream of leaving Liverpool. Unless they refused to pay him the salary he wanted, and didn't guarantee he would play every game. What a lege.
Understand where you're coming from Swarbs and realise a lot of comments on this particular board for the Liverpool "legend" are shall we say tongue in cheek?
The Galaxy manager has said he's going to play Stevie Liverpool Til I Die Gerrard as much as he can by managing his minutes. Sounds familiar.
AMERICAN soccer club LA Galaxy is to create a $12 million ‘Scouse-o-dome’ in the heart of California to make Steven Gerrard feel at home. please log in to view this image Woolybacks will be distributed around its edge Among the attractions of the simulated city on the edge of LA will be a specially dug River Mersey using water imported from the actual Mersey and a Brookside-style cul-de-sac. Further features will include a Tom O’ Connor theme park, a golf course exclusively occupied by Jimmy Tarbuck and Stan Boardman and a holographic image of Bill Shankly’s head shining like the sun. Half of the houses in the Scouse-O-Dome will be painted red, the other half blue in keeping with Gerrard’s home town. The ex-Liverpool Captain will be housed in a magnificently cosy two-up, two-down terraced house with a flat-screen TV broadcasting old episodes of Bread on a permanent loop. Gerrard can also expect to be surprised regularly by Cilla Black and to encounter comedians on every street corner, and will be further entertained by Beatles Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr jamming nightly at a specially constructed beat Club. A spokesman for LA Galaxy said, “We have high hopes that Steven Gerrard will spend two years with us scoring roughly five goals in a mildly anticlimactic end to a distinguished career.” please log in to view this image
