As I mentioned on another thread, I think Harry may even be happy to lose at Burnley to emphasise how we need signings. I've no confidence we'll improve even if we do bring two or three in...
Absolutely. Austin should have been rested today. A complete no brainer for everyone other than Dino chops.
That would be the attitude of a fundamentally dishonest and manipulative schemer. I also suspect Redknapp of being capable of such base motives and sincerely hope I'm wrong.
I say again we will ship 3 at least away to Burnley this current team has no gears at all Imo too fragile
So why didnt he play 11 fit players like every other team in PL has or the youngsters he doesnt give a s*** about. S*** management and his comment "What do you do" is effing priceless. Petrasso, Donaldson should be regularly in the squad getting experience... we all knew this was gonna happen but enoughs enough and all of a sudden I can see the s*** rising for a crap 2nd half of season................
I have a feeling 'Arry will have you all eating out of the palm of his hand in one week's time. This could've been a masterstroke
The players have the best part of a week to recover so I don't really see the problem with playing Austin or anyone if they were fit enough. I haven't seen the game but from the strength of the Team it seems he meant to win it. He failed again. If he didn't mean to win it why play any regular 1st team player.
Let me make sure I undertsand what you think Redknapp is doing - putting pressure on his boss, a man who is trying to deal with the deaths of 162 people on an aeroplane, who Redknapp says he gets on really well with and respects - to buy him more players, because the team he has assembled is ****, unable to compete with, let alone beat, a team from 2 leagues below? If you are right, that makes Redknapp a nasty piece of scum in my book If you are wrong, and he was genuinely trying to win this game, he is grossly incompetent. I suspect it's both
I don't think Harry "threw" the game to concentrate on the league. What happened is that SU wanted it more, fought more, were more organised and fully deserved to win. Once again our team weren't a team. We were 11 individuals, each of whom have not been coached into what their roles are. Each of our individuals are a level or two above SU but as a unit they were better than us. Harry was out played by a younger manager 2 leagues below. But we shouldn't be surprised, the writings been on the wall for ages. Sacking him now though is probably too late and would send us down. Also with what TF has going on its probably not even possible. As I've said before though what really worries me is how much more money Harry is allowed to waste. I give you Mutch as an example. I'm afraid we'll have to take whatever we get between now and the end of the season, when Harry should be part of our history. Hopefully. We can then rebuild whichever division we are in. FFP allowing. To summarise Rangers under HR team management are a shambles, and have been for quite some time. But there's no quick fix. Pullis could possibly have organised us enough to keep us up but TF didn't grasp the opportunity.
That's very inflammatory language Stan. Take it easy there. I agree its a decidedly dangerous tactic to be employing but there is a chance it may work. Of course we won't know for up to four weeks if it does but I'm willing to wait and give him the benefit of the doubt. I was very surprised to find out that nearly 13 thousand people went to that match. I think it would be best for all concerned if every season's minimum of two Cup games were considered mid-season friendlies worth no merit on their own. That way those that do attend won't be disappointed at the outcome because the result will be immaterial. This atmosphere is doing nobody any good.
Maybe the club could announce before the cup games next season whether the Manager and/or Team can be arsed or not. Then we can make a balanced judgement on whether to go or not. Every year I ignore common sense because "you never know it might be different this year". Well next season I may well be wiser after seeing that lot today.
Well i honestly and truthfully couldnt gove a flyinf f**k about a cup w are not going to win. Should have played our bottom 11 and let "he who shall not be named"put himself in the window. Needless to say..We've got a f*kwit from Leicester, who's mum ha just let him out making comments..shame he's been so quiet since we spanked then..and we've managed to turn this into a "lets have a dig at Harry" post, whilst at the same time..not a single person has suggested a credible replacement... Qute embarrasing really...again Well done
