Keep hearing on Twitter that we're interested in Sol Campbell? Don't know where the source is, so cannot be credible, but then people on Twitter have said we're going to sign players like Danny Green, Danny Hollands, Dale Stevens, etc. and was not wrong on that. Is there any truth in that, or is it darn right stupid? Just hope that the board, make a mistake and sign someone like him.
I hope it's true. If he gets a good pre season under his belt he will be a great asset. That said, I doubt if there is any truth in the story.
I'd take Sol Campbell over Christian Daily & The Doc... Reads the game well and for his age he is very quick compared to Daily/Doc sign him up, his experience will be great for Mambo!
i'd definitely take Sol Campbell you don't go from Arsenal to losing it altogether in a couple of seasons
For me it all depends if he turned up with the 'notts county' attitude. On his day he easily good enough for the championship if not a lower premier league club, and his stature alone would have a significant (if only for the short term) impact on our shirt and ticket sales. His experience could also prove to be invaluable in a team full of youth. Potentially Campbell could be a coach for the future too?
I definitely agree that he would be a good signing, for his experience if nothing else. If we're getting rid of Doc then another experienced CB, and of Sol Campbell's stature, would be invaluable.
bit harsh as what he found at County wasn't what he was sold in the brouchure, how many times have we been mis-sold something or had a crap holiday apartment but I do get what you mean if he's coming for the money, from the sounds of things the new owners are being prudent with the pounds for wages so I doubt he'd be coming here for a payday
I honestly think he has lost it altogether. Think he should do the decent thing, give up the ghost and retire.
I doubt we would sign him, the players we have got in so far appear to be part of a longer term vision. Saying that though he could be put on a 1 year contract and help us get out of this horrid league. Though I just can't see it.....
