I would say get one of Weller, sure, but Lineker should also have one... I´d stop at proposing we get one for akinbyei (sorry for spelling) & DJ Campbell though. :emoticon-0100-smile

Hang on, aren't statues a health and safety hazard? I doubt Mr. Barclay would allow it. ;)

While weller is my favourite all time player for leicester I think a statue of him is inappropriate, good footballer yes but i remember him refusing to come out for the second half against ipswich at a night game once if my memory serves me right, more suitable people would be The birch, Lineker and walshie, MON or even all four, maybe in time SVEN!!!!

In ten years time when we are European Champions we might be talking about a statue of Top! I would support a statue of the Legend Keith Weller while we are waiting.

I see where people are coming from when they say 'why Weller?' This is not like Brian Clough's statue at Forest and Derby - he will always be a standout figure in their history. Weller may well have been the greatest City player of all time in many ways, but at the same time I think we should probably only give a statue to a somewhat undisputed greatest legend in our history.

Whilst there are many candidates for a statue, in some ways I'd like to wait until we have a manager/player who really achieves something with us, like an FA Cup win or 15 odd years of top flight success.

Would totally support a Weller statue. We have had many heroes and some better known to other fans, but Weller for those that saw him was that extra special. Linekar may have achieved at a higher level, but when Weller got the ball there was a real buzz. His goal against Luton in the cup is the nearest to a 'George Best' style goal by a Leicester player.

Don't give a **** that fans from other teams might say 'who?', so what, he means a lot to City fans who cares what others think.
