Well that was a good trot out. Just to keep loose and stretch out or legs in the cold weather and not get tight and bored from not playing. Now we can just focus on the league as planned. Not a big deal today. Let the League 1 side have some fun. We didn't show up, with purpose!
I don't normally pipe us as all long standing members will know, but yappy that is a post that needs putting down... No excuse for 3-0 whichever way you look at it!
No surprise at all, our annual humiliation in both cups is becoming a rite of passage for all our teams. Perhaps the only surprise is how badly we manage to play in these games, Today and going backwards Burton, MK Dons, Rochdale et al always seem to play like they come from another planet on the day and make us look total mugs. Harry's press conference will be full of the usual shyte and he'll be 'bitterly disappointed but...'
Another cup disgrace. Regardless of focus on the league the continued failure in the cup is an embarrassment for players, managers and board at this club who continue to let the fans down. It is important for us to stay up and we can now use the excuse to focus. So no more excuses for not moving up the league and getting away points now.
I also worry that this result will be the last straw for many fans this season and may lead to the players putting in even less of a shift as the crowd start to get on their backs. Could be right on the cliff edge at the moment. I hope not obviously but I think it's worth mentioning.
Sparkie doesn't appear to care for the FA Cup either with Stoke 1-0 down home to Wrexham with 10 mins to play.
It's the New Year, only a couple days in, and I vowed to stay feeling warm and fuzzy, positive, as it were, this year, and I just wanted to get that started. mmmmmK?
It was difficult to watch us at times today Fringe players did themselves no favours, and even Austin looked dreadful
Going out of the cup 1-0 to a top team is no disgrace. I didn't see the game, thankfully, but this sounds like another inept, morale crushing surrender fest. If they had any honour Redknapp would resign and Ferdinand would retire, neither of them cares an iota about QPR. Charlie has been out of it for 3 or 4 games now. He is a very good natural finisher and usually gives his all, but Harry Kane looks a far more complete striker to me. If he can't play lone striker, we need to find someone who can, and fast.
We just played 4 matches in 10 days, lads. Give the boys a break. Especially the ones who played in all of them, and the old guys. They just didn't have any legs left. Ever been in that position, where you just don't have the legs? This is a blessing in disguise. We can now fully focus on the league, stay energized. We have to stay up. Now we can do it.
You're right about Austin, he doesn't have the all round game of close ball control and hold up play to do it consistently. Jordon Mutch was a disgrace today. For a big guy he was consistently beaten in the air by men far smaller than him and he just doesn't have that appetite to grab a game by the scruff of the neck and dominate. Armand Traore's QPR career must surely be coming to an end after being embarrassed by Campbell-Ryce.
Austin should never have played today. Don't care what he or the manager says, it's visually obvious that the boy is tired.
It was obvious during the Swansea game that Charlie really needed a rest before Burnley, yet Harry plays him for 90 mins.
