Overvwhelming statistics show that you win the FA Cup when you are a top tier club. Why people want to chuck in the towel when we are a top tier club is beyond me. For me, now in the mid-winter of life, I want to see us win it which would be the icing on the cake of supporting City in my lifetime. Let us at least give it a go!
Well, I do give a ****, just not this year. We're in our second season in the PL, which is famously the toughest. I couldn't care less if we get beat 1-0, 6-5 or 10-0, we have to stay in the league for many reasons, most of them financial. If Allam is stopping the money, then it needs to come from being in the PL. If we go down, we're in all sorts of trouble and no amount of name changing or player selling will get us out of it. We've improved these last few weeks, I'd like us to focus on that and keep improving until we're safe. We're still only two points above the relegation zone and as quickly as our luck has changed, it can easily change back again. If we get through tomorrow, great, but I'll be saying exactly the same thing the next round, because if we get one or two injuries (look at the last game, we picked up 2 serious and 1 not) we're really thin on the ground, especially if it's going to be a quiet transfer window. We haven't got any youth prospects like Southampton do, so it's up to the seniors to see us over the line. If they get injured playing Arsenal or whoever else we get next round, we're in deep ****.
The pundit representing us tomorrow on the BBC is Jimmy Bullard They could at least got a current injured player instead of him.
Spot on BMB. Arsenal are very beatable and even with our injuries we have a good chance of settling scores tomorrow and moving on in the Cup. I know Hernandez had a hard 90 minutes against Everton but he's hardly been overextended since he joined us and should be good for at least 60 minutes along with Jelly. I'm sure all the lads who are fit want to give it a real go and not watch from the bench. I'll be very disappointed in Bruce if we start primarily with our second string players. Arsenal have their own injury problems...lets take advantage. What a morale booster it would be if we can win this one.
I'm in 2 minds, as to whether a cup run would be beneficial. on one hand there is the possibility of picking up an injury, however on the other ,(and more importantly) the moral of the team would vastly improve if we won the oldest FA competition there is.
not THE oldest in the world.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oldest_football_competitions however, it is the oldest surviving competition.
I LIKE CUP RUNS JUST CONCERNED ABOUT PICKING UP MORE INJURIES WITH OUR CURRENT INJURY SITUATION. WILL BE GOOD TO GET HUDDS AND A FEW OTHERS LIKE INCE SOME GAME TIME. ALSO, ANYONE KNOW HOW TO TURN CAPS OFF WHEN YOU ARE ON A PHONE WITH THIS NEW SITE?
Should be on at 10:30 for you patty as its on at 9:30 for me. Uh, your central that might be 11:30 then.
