New name for Leicesters ''Walkers Stadium'' as theyve agreed a deal to change it to the ''King Power Stadium''.

    Shameful.

I love the whole Cash Converters thing anyway, I might consider getting a shirt for the first time in 20 years. Though I think the money is better spent on a couple of games.

I'd still prefer it to be called "The Circle"

I wasn't aware we'd renamed 'The Kingston Communications Community Stadium' to 'The Cash Converters Stadium' or even 'The Cash Converters Colosseum' :1980_boogie_down:

To be fair, it was only named after a bag of crisps to start with and only since 2002.

A bag of crisps is a bit of a compliment.. you only get about 5 crisps in Walkers nowadays

At least Walkers had something to do with the community in Leicester. The way footballs going with all chairmen auctioning their grounds off for naming rights, rather than taking the name of the area or street it's situated.

We're one step closer to foreign owners renaming clubs like you see in RL or 20/20 Cricket.

Just think how bad that would be if we became Hull City Tigers or something like that.

Can't say I like Cash Converters as a sponsor much, think I'd prefer King Power whatever the hell that is.

Aren't they the shirt sponsors as well?

That'll be another pub quiz question that needs rewriting.

King Power is the owners company and is worth 4 Billion. King Power also is our shirt sponsor. Generally speaking as a football fan i would prefer our stadium was given a real identity like Filbert Street did. Hull have the KC Stadium and im sure all of all would prefer it was given a name for good and not a sponsorship.

But as a Leicester fan i couldnt care less weather its the Walkers Stadium or the King Power Stadium, its just further evidence of our owners long term commitment to us

I have worried about that and it was really bad when they ruined rugby league in england by changing the names and getting rid of promotion and relegation

It has started to happen in other countries though in 2005 when SV Austria Salzburg where bough by red bull and red bull changed the name to FC Red Bull Salzburg , changed the badge to the red bull style bulls fighting and also the stadium is now called Red Bull arena

Don't forget poor old wimbledon too

    Truly awful
