Happy new year Somb, all the best to you lad.
You're one of the ones I'd run through the wall for.

Newcastle United can confirm that Alan Pardew has been released from his contract in order to be installed as the new manager of Crystal Palace.

Pardew said: "It has been a privilege to manage Newcastle United and I want to thank my captain Fabricio Coloccini and all the players, John Carver , Steve Stone , Andy Woodman and all the staff, all of who have been outstanding servants to Newcastle United.

"A special thanks also goes to the fans for all their support over the last four years. I must also thank Mike Ashley and the board for their unwavering support during my tenure at the Club."

Newcastle United managing director, Lee Charnley, said: "I would like to thank Alan for his service to the Club.

"Despite public perceptions, fuelled by the media, Mike Ashley had never met nor spoken to Alan before his appointment. However, what developed over the last four years was a very strong and positive relationship between all parties.

"It is these relationships that, four years later, means the Club is in a far better position, both on and off the field, and Alan has had a big part to play in that.

"During his time with us, Alan achieved two top-ten Premier League finishes, including a fifth-place finish in 2012, as well as taking us to the quarter-final of the Europa League. He goes with our best wishes and thanks."

****ing hell, Some of these mags couldn't lie straight in bed. So they hired him without meeting him then give him an 8 year contract on Championship wages a year later <doh>

" John Carver declared his interest in taking the reins at Newcastle United on a permanent basis following their 1-0 FA Cup third-round exit at Leicester City on Saturday."

There you go Mike. Look no further.

Another embarrassment to add to the list .........

Newcastle United supporters increase pressure on Mike Ashley to sell the club
Exclusive: Newcastle United Supporters Trust are seeking support from North East MPs about potential conflict of interest with Ashley's ownership of Rangers

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...pressure-on-Mike-Ashley-to-sell-the-club.html

"Newcastle United Supporters Trust (NUST) have witten to the Football Association and the Premier League questioning whether Ashley should be allowed to do something that could prevent them from playing in continental competitions in the future.

They will also argue that if Newcastle cannot play in Europe, it undermines the integrity of domestic competitions as they have no incentive to reach cup finals or finish in the top six in the Premier League.
NUST are also seeking support from North East MPs in order to add political pressure. It is hoped they will raise concerns about Ashley’s dual role in the House of Commons, although there is little anyone can do to make him sell a business that he has failed to find a buyer for several times before."

Dear me, this just gets funnier. Does NUST have , "Wuh special, yas divvent understand," on the headed notepaper <laugh>

I do concentrate on my own club, I was at the match yesterday and will be at the Liverpool game.
I've just organised my tickets for the Swansea away match and a weekend in Mumbles.

This is a harmless little thread that takes a few minutes a day.

You have to admit it's funny that Newcastle supporters are claiming the club has no incentive to reach cup finals because of Ashley.

Who are they blaming for the previous 5 decades <laugh>

BTW, you're on a Sunderland forum at 7am, don't you think you should concentrate on your own club?
I was asking you, when you were on here again the other day, who do you want as manager.

    Who would you like personally?

FFS Somb, Your club's a ****ing laughing stock. It makes people want to laugh and talk about it, especially local rivals. How on earth would you cope with rivalry banter in the works place? <doh>

Yes everyone will have their own opinion. Somb's ok though he really is and myself and Somb have had many a disagreement over the years.I quite like the mags coming over to our board and vice versa and it's more entertaining when people disagree, imo.

Got a lot of time for Somb, he's one of the few mags I have got time for. Just wish he wouldn't bite on behalf of the numpty's whom I'm on about. He's cut from a very different cloth and my feelings on Mags just doesn't apply to him.

That's because he is an East Durham lad so therefore does not possess the arrogant twat gene that is exclusive to those on the north side of the Tyne..
