Tony Pulis has joined the race for Manchester United’s unwanted pair John O’Shea and Wes Brown.

The Potters’ boss is keen to do a double deal – valued at around £8million – and hopes to take advantage of a delay in their negotiations with Sunderland.

O’Shea’s agent has spoken with Stoke and is now pondering his offers. The Republic of Ireland defender knows his time at Old Trafford may be up, but wants the right move.

Sunderland boss Steve Bruce still wants him, but the switch to Wearside is proving hard to complete – and Stoke’s interest could be well-timed.

Brown has also been a Bruce target for weeks, but he has put feelers out to Aston Villa and Everton – and Stoke may yet offer him the best home.

The former England defender is building a new house in the area and staying close to home in Staffordshire may be a more appealing proposition than heading up north to Bruce and Wearside.

The Daily ****tor. Reports once more.

Honestly couldnt care less if we got neither of them, rather spend it on Dann/Johnson/Onouha/Samba

Great minds IBWT Onouha is not wanted at City so any decent bid will get him, as for Samba if we get in quick before Arsenal get their act together then we could just nick him.

Four years would be as mental as West Ham offering Nolan 5 years...

He's 31 (32 not long after the start of next season) and seems quite injury prone. He'll be given what I imagine to be quite a decent wage packet up until he's 35 and not far off 36?

He isn't even a much of a good defender either, so if you guys hope to improve, surely he would be obsolete and not good enough for the first team at some point within the next 4 years?

If it's true, it's utterly mental.

I'm hanging on to the belief that it's not true. We got burned by stupid contracts during Roy Keane's era, so I don't believe for a minute that Niall Quinn and Steve Bruce would do the same.
