Not a single Chelsea fan would give a toss if City were still 8 points off the lead and Lampard was just getting the odd minute at the end of games. The fact that he's been party to this well thought out scheme must put all that badge kissing into context.
That's NYCFC's issue not Lampards. He made no deal with NY fans, just the club ANDDD the club allowed this, it was their call.. officially anyway
I am of the opinion Chelsea knew this, and that they knew the fans would be a bit pissed. I think everyone knew what was going on bar the fans of all 3 clubs involved. Chelsea wanted lamps gone, City wanted him but Chelsea couldn't let him go there so they worked out a deal involving NYCFC, I def think this is the case because the owners of the other half of NYCFC would have had to agree as well as City as City only own half of the Club.
City only own half of the club. This was all prearranged and Chelsea were in on it too, the only ones not were Chelsea City and NYCFC fans
Then you could say they did very well, htey'd be 4 points worse off without Lamps at least in 2 games where he got the winner. Who really believed when he first went there that this is the way it would be, City are no slouches. Just one of life's little ironies that Chelsea can spend their way out of in Jan This PL is NOT going to be decided by Frank Lampard, any thoughts of that kind are If Chelsea refind the form of the first half they will win it, it is in their own hands not lampards!!
They have to turn around their performances on the road if they are to prevail -having City at our shoulders should force them to focus especially after the hiding at WHL.
Here we go. Lampard did not sign to New York City. He is not a NYCFC player. As a free agent Lampard signed a deal with City Football Group (CFG) the owner of both clubs. NYCFC did though announce he would be playing for them at the start of the next MLS season and fans did buy season tickets because of that. This was not NYCFC's call, they had no control. The MLS commissioner believes MCFC decided where Lampard would play and CFG allowed it. Full Story: http://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/jan/04/frank-lampard-mls-don-garber-manchester-city Clearly an easy way to avoid FFP, something Mike Ashley should look into. There is a good reason we have a monopolies commission, it stops consumers being ripped off and in sport unfair advantage being gained and of course result fixing. Although sport groups are legal I believe they are morally wrong ( Not sport groups like Schalke which is a multi-sport group). The global economy makes national monopoly departments ineffective. I remember Abramovich taking flack when he owned the company who were the shirt sponsor for CSKA Moscow when Chelsea played them. People were screaming about match fixing then. What then where two clubs are entirely owned by the same person? NYCFC and MCFC could only meet in the World Club Championship and I guess no one here really cares about that.
Oh and one more thing. I, me , myself, does not believe that anything done wrong in the past should be used to condone or ameliorate to wrong doing of the present. Basically two wrongs never make a right. Indeed someone who has done a thing wrong before usually has the best insight into what should be right now. So saying well your club done this and that first does not excuse the fact that something is wrong today.
TBH - I don't care Lamps playing for City. He is not going to be the difference maker. Jose is going to be the difference maker, just like last season he could lose the league (City or Manny didn't win it!!). Or he can make some changes and win the league for us.
Keep telling yourself that and everything will be ok. He has already gained 5 extra points for City and taken 2 off you, thats a swing of 7 points in half a season. If he keeps that up in the second half he will make quite a difference
now that yaya is off to ACON, I just hope Lamps starts one or two league games. Then you will see, he will directly contribute to City losing few points. As a impact sub - he could score some goals, so does Nasri or even Milner.
Milner and to an extent Nasri are very important players for City, you need to watch them to see what Milner provides I would be very surprised to see Lampard start games, they have more than enough midfielders to see the season out. It is his impact that makes the difference.
exactly my point as well. Anyone as impact sub in that City team can poach a goal or two here and there. Even Mikel would. HAHAA
