Mauro Zarate move to QPR in doubt Filed: Thursday, 1st January 2015 By: Staff Writer Mauro Zarate's loan switch to Queens Park Rangers could be OFF, according to Rs boss Harry Redknapp. Redknapp, who watched his side draw 1-1 with Swansea this afternoon was asked about the delay with the transfer, which some sources had claimed was a done deal as early as last weekend, in his post-match press conference tonight. "I’m not sure [what the situation is]," he replied. "We’ll wait and see what happens. We’ll have to look at it and see where we go." And when pushed for a definitive answer on whether Zarate would be joining Rangers, he replied simply: "Maybe. I’m not sure." Rumours that emerged on the KUMB forum this morning prior to Redknapp commenting suggested that the delay was due to a failed medical, although this remains unsubstantiated. Either way, Zarate is currently in limbo having burnt his bridges with Sam Allardyce last week. Speaking via his brother, the 27-year-old Argentine had insisted the reason he hadn't featured more often was because his arrival at West Ham had been engineered by Chairman David Sullivan, not Allardyce. Arry doesn't like the way Zarate bad mouthed FatSam perhaps he sees trouble ahead........I would somewhat agree but having seen the dire need for a striker with a different option yesterday....I am feeling somewhat desperate.
I wouldn't worry too much about this. Harry hates being put on the spot until these deals are tied up. Let's not forget that he's had his fingers burnt talking up deals in the past before they're over the line. [Garry Hooper].
If it is true that he has failed his medical because of fitness levels, then we would do well to not signing him. He is paid a fortune every week and his only work related task is to keep fit enough to be able to play football when called upon. Do we want another Fatboy?
It is always a risk signing a player who has not been playing regularly, Sandro a casing point. Which is why we may have trouble getting rid of fat boy and SWP.
Is our medical a race round the block? I can't believe this would be true. Arry: How did the lad get on? Medical staff: He failed boss. Arry: Failed? That's a real pity. What was it - dodgy knees? Medical staff: No. Arry: Hamstrings? Medical staff: No. Arry: Back injury? Medical staff: No boss. Arry: Well, why has he failed? Medical staff: Errrr....he got a bit puffed on the treadmill. I still want to shoehorn in a Zarate chop joke but can't manage it.
Apparently he hasn't failed his medical, the deal hasn't been finalised according to Harry this morning.
Our medical is more likely to be how heavy a wallet can you carry I wouldn't mind betting that progress on any deal for Zarate has slowed as a result of potential interest from other clubs. How often have we been under the impression that a player is "definitely" coming only for him to pitch up somewhere else?
http://www.football365.com/news/21554/9630071/-? So we have a two-part medical now? Yeah right...... But maybe it is back on
