Maybe we should sign Gerard. Give them 2 mill for gerrard and we can also take coutinho for a fair price. Gerrard can rot on the bench and coutinho can play intermittently as a shadow of his former self. oh hang on, I'm getting my Liverpool and southampton ways mixed up.

As it says at the end, the full interview can be seen if you sign into the Ipswich player. Now, I believe that, if you have a Saints account, that'll be fine for the Ipswich one as well.

Just checked. Yeah, it's fine. Remember to log out again though. I logged into several linked players at once a couple of years back and Saints thought I was a potential hacker and sent me an email about it. That took a little explaining that I was just curious as to what our ex-players/managers were doing. Logging in and then out again afterwards solves that problem.

You can get used to these games coming thick and fast...this one seems a long time coming. Don't know how I'm going to stand it when we go back to weekly games. Like McCarthy's interview about watching us v Arsenal not making him feel better. His last comment confirms that promotion is of course most important to him...suggesting he may rest players. However, this will still be a tough game. A Championship side who are flying and we are unfamiliar with can prove a tougher task than a struggling PL side and their players will be up for it. Have to start this game as we mean to go on...dominate from the start. Remember Sheffield United should be written up on the dressing room wall.

Lawrenson, John Aldridge and Dave Beasant have all gone for a 2-0 win to Saints.

Interesting article about Mings and his release from Southampton because he was too small....funny that, we have a positive liking for hobbits now :) I suspect it wasn't just that....if you are good enough, you are tall enough....though you probably have to be better than others because your height will be considered. He is 6'3 now btw. Good on him for going a different route and doing well...shows you mustn't give up...clubs don't get it right all the time.

I would be happy with a 2 Nil defeat so long as we play well and don't pick up any injuries.

    2-2

I played golf with Mick McCarthy about 8-10 years ago. He is a really smashing bloke.

Yes, I saw a stat the other day that Victor has committed more fouls than any other player in the Prem. Surprising for such a meek little chap.

Ipswich are as big as 8/1 to win tomorrow. That's almost tempting except I cant back against Saints.

Ummm , he says he was 5'8 when he was released and only 15. Most of the top full backs and wingers at the moment are between 5'7 and 5'9. He was bound to grow as well. There's no way he was released for that reason.

Good to know, I always had a bit of a soft spot for him as he seems like a genuine, honest bloke and his interviews are usually good for a bit of a laugh. I hope he gets another shot at the EPL after Wolves ****ed him (and themselves) over.

He really was a top, top bloke. My mate is a Mackem and he won an auction to play golf in a four ball with Mick and their then reserve coach Jocky someone. He took me because he wanted a football fan rather than a golfer (thankfully :)). We half expected him to turn up, whizz round and bugger off, but he was excellent. I wore a Saints polo shirt and we had some banter over that and after the golf, he stayed for drinks and food afterwards and answered any questions we had.

To add to his excellent attitude, we played golf two days before the second leg of the play-off semi-final between Sunderland and Palace.

He really is a very decent bloke and like you, I hope he gets another crack at the top level.
