Halfway through the season, how are we doing? improved on last season? are we again fighting a relegation battle? will we have a decent finish? where will we finish? do we need a cup run? going by what we have seen so far!
Halfway through, half the necessary points for safety. I expect us to finish about where we are now, maybe a place or two higher. Just to be guaranteed safety a bit earlier than last season would be a improvement. Don`t want that gan on again thank you very much. Gus is still very much on a learning curve and, considering he is still trying to correct an unholy mess, he`s doing quite well. More gradual improvement I think.
Every club in the bottom half is fighting relegation and few clubs will be safe/doomed until the last 8 or 9 games. Our key players have been injured and are just coming back which will make a huge difference. It's obvious, though, that Poyet isn't happy forcing square pegs into round holes. If we don't back him he'll be off sooner rather than later.
the Leeds f a cup game will decide his future. Another team in poor form coming here and championship, so expect anything. This negative attitude is annoying I would rather we won 9 and lost 11. Let's hope he gets at least one striker and 2 defenders plus a creative left sided midfielder. 4 wins (most likely WBA , Aston villa , C pal and Leicester at home) and 7 draws anywhere should do it.
Not losing was realistically the only way to go and the only place to start. Boring? yes. Necessary? I think so. The next two windows should show where Gus and Ellis intend to go with this.
Way way better. When Gus took over we scored few and conceded many. Now we score few and concede few. Any new manager's first responsibility is to make a team tough to beat. He's done this, we need to be patient as we don't have the budget to evolve our team overnight. We'll stay up, hopefully comfortably with a bit of backing in Janurary. Then we can push on but it's all gradually. Gus isn't being backed like Keane, Bruce and O'Niel. Only a fair men will take that into account. But like it or not, our progress will be gradual.
Apparently I am too ambitious to be considered for the role. I said something about maybe winning a trophy and I scared the pie man away.
You do realise that translated as "I need spend hundreds of millions" and Ashley thought **** dat **** man.
I think he was thinking of pies during my negotiations. He mentioned a chap called Greg. Never heard of him before
I know who you mean. Greg Outlet, good at working on a budget but what he produces is stale and out of date. Just Ashley's type.
That's the bugger!!! Ah I see, I had no chance then. Mind you, I've heard Ellis Short has become quite the skin flint too. No hope in the North East!!! Lets hope our six fingered brethren can get promotion this season
