Yes! 2015 is the year for romance! All I need to do is learn the lyrics of Your Song (preferably the version from Moulan Rouge)

The headline books have been done now. Mind you, there are a wealth of stories in The Silmarrillion and I'd be surprised if some of those weren't adapted because they are outline stories, so screenplays can be written freely for them. The Tale of Beren and Luthien would be a good one to start with. Then you have numerous other short stories, poems, translations and adaptations from old texts and legends. Tolkein was quite prolific, but he didn't publish everything. These have been coming out over the years. Personally, I'd love to see The Adventures of Tom Bombadil, because he's the best character in the whole of Middle Earth and he hasn't been portrayed on film yet.

The problem is that I believe Tolkein only sold the film rights to The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. The Silmarillion wasn't published in Tolkein's lifetime so isn't covered by the original deal. Peter Jackson explained on Front Row on Radio 4 a couple of weeks ago that not all Tolkein's family were happy with having any more films made, so that was probably that. I do agree with you though, Beren and Luthien would be great film material, although who would you get to play the most beautiful maiden who was ever born? The story of Idril and Tuor, the other Elf - Man love story, would also be great to see as it features the fall of Gondolin. Personally the one I'd most love to see would be the Downfall of Numenor, as we'd get to see Sauron in the flesh then.

31 this year! I remember a hang over being something that bothered me until lunch, then something that took a whole day to get over... Now the day after is a total right off, and the day after that I'm still hanging.
