On balance we were lucky to get a point yesterday. Green should have gone early doors and if Bony had started I'm sure he would have converted a couple of those Gomis chances. On the positive side we played better than against Palace and really could have nicked it at the death when Austin really should have scored. Imo there were two glaring errors from old dinosaur chops. Firstly the delay in getting Zamora off. He was knackered but Austin pleaded with the bench to give it another 10 mins. Charlie really seems to hate playing up top on his own. Then when old Dino finally made the change he played Fer too far up! Again Austin showed how much he dislikes that lone role as he urged Fer to help him press their back four in the closing minutes. Fer should have been dropped in with Barton and Henry to plug the huge gap in the centre that their extra man in midfield exposed all game. Even after the sending off we were always going to be hanging on so at that late stage we should have let their defenders have the ball whilst plugging the midfield. It was absolute class from Bony but old dinosaur chops could cost us big time with his lack of tactical nous. Very difficult month ahead!
Spot on col but the biggest bad luck comes to us eventually. It was about Bony and the thing was that it was problem his last match for Swans. It just have to be against us. Have to say that the Swans suffered much more of referees but eventually we should have buried that match a long time before Bonys goal. At least we were a well worth of a point if not three.....
We should've substituted Hill too - he was clearly struggling towards the end having taken a knock, and though Clint can always be relied upon to grit his teeth and get on with it, Swansea cutting in from our left is what set up Bony. Albeit that he still had a lot to do, and that was a great finish Unfortunate that Routledge was sent off too - he and Dyer had been pretty ineffective, but Routledge going off seemed to get the Swans really fired up. Having seen Henry's tackle again I think that he was very lucky not to be sent off himself and I can understand why WR was so angry
Which was worse - Routs or this? http://www.thetottenhamway.com/2015...ahill-kicks-stamps-tottenham-star-harry-kane/
I was saying at half time that, having got our noses in front, we should take Zamora off and match Swansea in midfield. I knew it wouldn't happen of course.
No. Cos old Dino chops doesn't do tactics. Also I get the impression that Charlie really really hates being alone up front. I watch him closely at games and his shoulders visibly drop when OBZ goes off. This could be quite a problem for him if he gets a move away as most sides play with one forward.
At least it will stop Monk bleating on that Swansea don't get the rub of the green (possible pun, possibly intentional).
