Muzza has been looking a bit knackered recently, so I reckon a spell beckons, Same for Dyer and Ranegie....
As I am going I want to see us give it a good go. I expect Chelski to make 11 changes, but I want to see a strong Watford 11.
We will play our best team, according to Joka, and i imagine, after Chelsea's game yesterday, they won't want to lose this too, so they'll play a good team, if not all of the first 11.
i would play the youth team on Sunday and in all the games during January to stop any of our players putting in decent performances and being snapped up by rivals. they should be good enough anyway ;-)
Chelsea were looking tired so think Jose will have no choice but to make some changes - but they should have the squad to cope with that. I would also suggest the FA Cup is 3rd in hs priorities so will rest players - especially as the pressure is starting to build now City have caught up, and all the excuses are coming out I expect we will play pretty much our strongest side. Probably too early for the new guy, but would like to see Pudil on the left and Anya on the right.
Ighalo and Deeney up top to start please. With Vydra to come on later to see if his pace works. We need our strongest 11 out to stand a chance, but what is it? -------------------------GOMEZ--------------------------- ---------ANGELLA - CATHCART - BASSONG------ ANYA----TOSZER---ABDI---MUNARI-----PUDIL -------------DEENEY----------IGHALO----------------?? Is Guédioura eligible? Layun on the bench to come on and score the winner!!
Guedioura has gone back to Palarse, Bassong is still here for another week, but his loan agreement probably stops him from playing on Sunday.
Either way, I am not sure if Tottenham have done us a favour. Their win will only make Jose want victory even more.
Both clubs went down at the end of that season (87/88). Chelsea were relegated despite finishing above Portsmouth, Oxford and us! It was because of the gradual reduction of the number of clubs in the top division. 4 went down that season.
I was at that game - got totally drenched as the away end had no cover in those days and the only protection was under the scoreboard. When I set off the day was quite good so only wore a harrington jacket - and as I was living in Crouch End at the time I was on the tube. Bloody obvious I was in the away end going home as I was so wet but got a lift on one of the coaches to Hammersmith so managed to avoid the obvious repercussions!
Yes unfortunately Bassong can't play so either Hoban or, if fit, Ekstrand. Please not Doyley - just too much for him.
It would be the sensible option to play a reserve team against them. Lose 2-0 with a full strength team or 5-0 with a reserve team. It doesn't really matter at the end of the day. The most important thing is to avoid injuries for the priority, which is league games. It would be a mistake to go there and think you can cause an upset.
Still got a similar problem of whether to play a full strength side or not. League points are priority.
