Reading about Real Madrid's President stating that Bale would never leave actually feels good. It's good to see them in defensive position even without any offers on the table.

My contention is that if United really wants Bale, they would get him.

Agent linked to Real has said they turned down a 102m bid from Chelsea.

They didnt because Chelsea dont have 1.02million never mind 102million.

Not unless they are selling half their squad.

They didn't buy Bale to make a profit on him, they bought him to play football. 20m profit is nothing to Real, they'll make that on Bale shirt sales over the next while alone.

It's wild dreaming to think United are signing Bale any time soon <laugh> Bit like the wild dreaming of Ronaldo coming back under Moyes. Was never ever on but many believed it was possible because of Nike's money bags. Thing is Ronaldo is not short on a few bob, neither are Real. They'll let quality players go if A they are causing all manner of **** or B they have a better player lined up, ala Ozil out Bale in for example.

Looking at things with abit of common sense this transfer is never going to happen. Bale has impressed so far in Madrid, and Bales happy there.

Agree, he's doing well, much better than I expected, and all concerned seem quite happy atm. Expect them to pick up the La Liga title this term too. Real look twice the team under Carlo than they did under Jose

They let ManUr£ have the vastly overrated DiMaria, They won't be getting anyone else from them.

Tbh I have seen little to nothing of Di maria in total, couldn't make a call, but he must be decent if he's getting signed by Europe's top clubs.
He's a dead ringer for Dobby though.

Bale just isn't going anywhere, some just seriously overestimate United's pull in Europe compared to Barca and Real. Real Madrid is probably the top destination in World Football, like it or lump it. Personally I hate the club, but there it is.

Di Maria's progress has been greatly hampered by injuries. It was very exciting watching him run at defenders in the first few months. We miss that in the team now. We pass the ball around but with less adventures. That was obvious in the game today.

As for Bale. If I were Bale, I would would to play for United at this point. Great Manager, on the rise again. What better time to try and make a name for himself in a league that he knows so much about and closer to home instead of being second fiddle to to everybody else at Real.

Someone mentioned Real made money on shirt sales for Bale? Is Real the only team that sells merchandise? This is the crap that was cooked up by Real's hierarchy as though Real's shirt is the only shirt on global football which is of course trash talk. Yes, Ronaldo will sell shirts, but I frankly see the rest of their team on the same par as everyone else in terms of sales.

Why are you telling me, I don't argue with any of that <laugh>

BTW the Ronaldo rumours surfaced during LVG's tenure not Moyes, and for a moment I did think it may (and I mean may) have been possible next summer but only bcos of quotes from player and agent. In the end though they were quashed quickly and everyone knew it wasn't going to happen.

Re Di Maria, I don't doubt he's quality.

Re Bale and moving to a "club on the up", he's at the top club in the world playing with the best player/s in the world right now, anything else is a step down mate. Even Manchester for Madrid, is a step down in living conditions as well.
Playig his best football, winning CLs.

Only a fool would make that switch.

My point again, 20 million profit from selling Bale is 0 incentive for selling him, that was my point about shirt sales, 20 million is buttons to real, it won't hire them a tea boy. There is no way 20m profit will entice them to sell Bale in a 100m+ deal. That Chelsea offer is imaginary, Chelsea didn't make Real any offer for bale

I think you'll find in Fergie's last season all the Ronaldo talk surfaced and gathered momentum after United met Real in the CL, it all died only when Ronaldo signed a new deal, wasn't that in hte summer when MoyeZ took over? Up till then there was delusional hope, mainly from UIR <laugh>

Even Swarbs had convinced himself it could happen if Nike weighed in with money, of course I rightly pointed out neither Ronaldo or Real are short of money, the money was never a factor. Real Madrid is football's Hollywood as it were, and this is why Ronaldo and Bale are going nowhere, Ronaldo may finish his career somewhere else, but it will be token, shirt sales sort of crap, like Becks at Real

Ronaldo was genuinely unhappy. As stated by Ronaldo himself. At no point did I or anyone claim he was coming but that we would be the number one destination for him, should he leave.

But of course, your Irish eyes are frozen over by the bitter Finnish air so its probably all a bit blurry for you.

imo he was unhappy playing dire football in that Maureen Real team. Soon as that clown left Real, Ronaldo not only was happier but is playing some of the best football ever played ever.

And I would agree with that.

Jose even tried blaming Ronaldo for his failure at Madrid.

For who? Bale or Di Maria? We couldn't afford either and neither would sign even if we could

Many footballers have proven that Real is not the only place in football. Look at Arjen Robben and Alonso, asfor example. Their careers actually got a lift after leaving Real. Same for Barca. Look at Suarez. I doubt that he would ever be able to be as accomplished as he was at Liverpool in an age when many are too quick to think you can only ply your trade in Spain.

Another great player that left Barca for France... Zlatan Ibrahimović. the move has been sensational for his career whereas when he was at Barca, he was just another player and often looked lost.

That is exactly why I believe Bale should welcome a move to Manchester United. He would be expected to be the fulcrum of the team and he is at the perfect age to do it and in a league he knows all too well. I actually see it as win/win. Right now, Bale is just another name on Madrid team sheet. It is Ronaldo first and everybody else second. I would make the same case for Karim Benzema.
