Bloody hell Gerrard's leaving Liverpool. That is an end of a very big and very successful era. Wow. Obviously I'm not a Liverpool fan but I felt I had to say something. He's been one of the best midfielder's I've seen in the PL and it's going to be so strange seeing him in another team's kit.

Shame it's come to this if it's true. Now we know why a lot of players seem to retire too early like Carragher as they want to go out at the top and not have their whole careers tarnished by 6 months of poor performances. He's been the best player I've seen at Liverpool, better than Suarez in terms of longevity and influence on others in big games. Guy will always be a legend.
Agreed. He'll always be a legend and I'd like to see him go aboard and do his stuff in a slower league where he'll look the player he was again. And not going to a rival of course.
An absolute legend, as simple as those 3 words. Gutted he didn't get his PL winners medal last year and also furious with what Rodgers has done to his reputation this season. **** all that though - genius of a player and will be strange without him here.
In terms of pure ability Suarez was better. But he came with baggage. Gerrard had the ability but also the connection and the loyalty so will always be a hall of fame player at LFC. It's best for the club that he goes. If he ends up at a Prem club, Chelsea or City, being managed correctly Rodgers should hang his head in shame because he's not had the balls to use him sparingly/sensibly at this stage in Gerrard's career and has been in thrall to his name and legend at Anfield, playing him consecutively for 90 mins when Gerrard can't take it and the team is worse off for it. Also if Gerrard ends up at another big PL club it will affect his legacy and LFC fans' views of him a little bit. Hopefully he goes off to America like Thierry Henry for his swan song or to Italy maybe where the pace and style would suit his passing.
The rumour is he's off to the MLS with LA Galaxy the most likely destination. The guy is a club legend but there comes a time in every players career when they are just that yard short. Take today as a prime example ... Twice Liverpool played out from the back but didnt give Gerrard a pass and we were up their end threatening in mere seconds. The times we played through Gerrard the move slowed dramatically.
I dont know tbh, I say I wouldnt like to see him at another English club which I wouldnt but we dont look like winning the league anytime soon, he gave his best for us, will always be a legend even if he ends up with a winners medal at City or Chelsea <spit> Think/hope he'll go abroad though
