Justified Completely out of touch with feelings in the name change and appearing to earn his cash promoting it I can sort of see why he would, but he should be prepared to get some stick as well A bit like being an officious traffic warden, pays the bills but you need to be comfortable to take some stick as well?
This ^ Deano's had a rough time of it since retirement, even if it is self inflicted. Allam will have promised him all sorts of riches,( a clever move enrolling a Hull legend). Except we're not that ****ing daft are we lads ?
He's very much in danger of tarnishing his standing in Hull City AFC fork lore Mind you he ain't very bright is he so not a surprise really
Amazing how some can just cast one of the biggest living legends and his involvement in our history aside so casually. I thought history mattered? Ours would be decidedly more ****e if it wasn't for him. He's not gifted in the education department, he's had his demons, but after all is said and done, cut him in half and he's black and amber. He always gave his all for us, more than some so called other legends. Booing him? ****ing hell. Grow the **** up. Some of you make me ashamed to be associated with you.
Didn't be call us Hull Tigers on Goals on Sunday the other day too? Several times in fact? I didn't boo him. In fact I didn't even hear those who did.
Try this: Write down on a piece of paper your memory of the single greatest passage of play in the history of our football club. Now boo him.
History does matter. That's why people booed him for what he's doing now and not what he did in the past. I just find it incredible said he's willing to soil his legacy for a few quid.
I was asking myself the same question as I typed! On loan. Recent ****ish celebrations. Any half decent player can play a ball back from the corner flag to the penalty spot. Thinks too highly of himself. Nah. It's OK to boo him.
Expect some hand wringing on AN and from Obi about booing one of our own. A heartfelt message on ctwd website should do the trick. Please please dont boo one of our own...never felt so disconnected from the very soul of the club that some of our own fans could do this etc etc
He's picked a side on a known contentious issue, and he's been vocal about it. I was surprised when the boos happened, but if he didn't know already, this will have just confirmed to him that he's picked the wrong side. If he's going to act clever calling us Hull Tigers in the media, and saying in interviews that he hopes the name gets changed, then I'm sure he's man enough to take a few boos. He's earned them.
I find it incredible that fans are so willing to **** on his legacy on the back of a radio interview.
