Its not so much the set up we could have played lovren instead of can move can to rwf and play hendo in place of captain G and it would have worked just fine!

I think Can should stay at RCB until he slips up on form personally. He's been a revelation there recently, defensively strong, comfortable on the ball, calm and has a bit of pace on him. I wouldn't move him anywhere!

I totally agree, was just pointing to not having gerard in the 1st 11 we still can field a team that can command the midfield and play with flair.

    He's been brilliant hasn't he?

Brought such composure to the defence and much needed physicality. Both he and Sakho are real beasts and win majority of their duels. Sakho can become world class - he will misplace the odd pass now and again but that is forgiveable. What would be unforgiveable is if he made simple defensive errors ala Lovren and Skrtel.

I know we conceded 2 goals today but it was arguably the best display I've seen from the back 3 (bar set pieces). Add Manquillo to the RWB to give proper protection for Can, move Hendo to the middle alongside a top class DM and we will have a very good unit. Not much needed but I simply cannot see Rodgers changing.

Utter Bollocks JS! Leicester were a prime example of 'lesser' players giving 100% commitment to the cause whilst our so-called 'stars' paniced and didn't get stuck-in.

And where hasLeicester's 'heart' got them this season? If heart was a massive part, they would not be bottom.

In fairness Jimmy, our 'heart' is starting to pay dividends - we should have beaten Spurs - took them apart at will, hit the woodwork twice and ended up very unlucky 2-1 losers - plucky win at Hull - and let's face it - without a ref from the Wirral <whistle> we'd have come away with a 2-0 win at Anfield today <laugh>

Hansen said you couldn't win anything with kids but I'm telling you that no matter how good the individual players without any individual heart and teamspirit we won't win anything -ever.

It is foolish indeed to just believe that a collection of players given routines on the pitch are going to be successful. The manager and players we have can talk a good game but appear not to be prepared to sacrifice for the result. Hence - no heart. It's what this football club was built on!

We saw this with Hendo under Kenny and again under Rodgers first season. Playing Hendo out of position, wide. Last season he played him more centrally and look at the improvement. How we missed him after the Citeh game ban. Now Rodgers is again playing him out wide when we can all see it doesnt work. Rodgers is just clueless.

Burnley game - Henderson at fullback, Lucas Gerrard combo in midfield. Terrible performance.

Swansea game - Two actual Fullbacks playing, Henderson central and no Gerrard. Only improvement would be Can into midfield ahead of Lucas.

Leicester game - Henderson at fullback, Lucas Gerrard combo in midfield. Terrible performance.

Having just seen the Tottenham result, think we have kissed goodbye to fourth place.

a bad result but a fair one.... fourth? forget that stuff... play the next game.

we were second best all game. I'm not sure if it was the midfeld duo or them wanting it more. Lucas in and gerrard why not gerrard and henderson?

    I dunno

anyway. i think its fair for leicester as those pens were as soft as f...

Qualify for Europa League, win a cup or two, get Gerrard shifted, and build for next season's top 4 push

Maybe unfair, they scored two from play :D Should have went out deserved winners today Leicester. They played like that for much of their 5 3 beating of United, could have had more that game too and could have had 4 today as well. They are pretty good going forward.

Gerrard being in there instantly makes Lucas worse, it messes up the centre, Gerrard could have closed down for their first, but just stood off. Same **** again, where the second came from, right in front of the back 4 and no Lucas or Gerrard to be seen.

So our top scorer for the season is our main problem and is the main reason we lost today? Sounds unlikely, doesn't it?

Rodgers "Today we weren't tight enough on the ball, didn't keep it for long enough and our passing was slower than normal"

You don't have to be ****ing genius to know the solution for that, or is he that ****ing clueless.
If Balotelli doesn't suit our style of play because he can't press, how the **** is Gerrard lasting a full 90mins at snails pace.
He took off Moreno, who's an attacking threat and moved Sterling to WB. While Gerrard looked knackered by the 50th minute. ****ing master stroke that was.

Gerrard could still be important, if he used right. Lampard is used intelligently and he's already won city quite a few games.
It's painful that almost the entire fan base is slating a legend, but if the manager is not realizing the problem when the fans almost universally seem to know the solution then something is seriously not right.

Not really since most of his goals have either come from Penalties or Freekicks. I imagine other players could have also scored some of those.
