Our next three league games are West Ham away, West Brom away and Newcastle at home. We need to get at least 5pts there, and should target at least 6.
Don't think this deserves a thread of its own, so I'll bung it in here - from BBC Sport... More from Leicester manager Nigel Pearson on Liverpool's controversial penalties: "I would like, moving forward, for officials to have the benefit of technology. I think it would be good for the game, would clear up indecision, wouldn't create differences within the ground, and would be beneficial to everybody involved in the game." "As a manager we are under pressure to get results and it would be beneficial if we allowed officials to have every tool available to help them get everything right for the good of the game." I'm sorry, Nigel, but the use of "moving forward" negates any sympathy from me.
Cracking performance and a cracking result. I just hope that Huddleston isn't allowed to just walk back into our midfield. As much as I like him as a player we've looked a much better hard working midfield without him, and, which is quite shocking, we've created more chances, and WON GAMES! Finally a word for Jelly and Abel, they looked fantastic as a partnership again. That ball over the top from Abel for Jelly's goal was pure instinct, knowing where his strike partner was going to be, and for me that's a VERY good sign.
Seems exodus had the desired effect then .. lol .. great team performance from 1st to lasr minute .. get in
I'd definitely play a weakened side in the Cup, it's defeatist but with injuries we have to be careful. I'd go with something like: ------------Jakupovic---------- Lenihan----Maguire---McShane----Clarke Annan-----Meyler-----Ramirez------Ince -----------------Aluko-----Rossi Subs: Watson, Livermore, Figueroa, Davies, Hernandez, Sagbo, Elmohamady The youth players get the opportunity to play at the Emirates on live TV, thereby boosting their chances of getting a loan deal, as well as playing with first team players. It also allows us to rest key players to focus on the Premier League campaign. It's also a good chance for the gaffer to see if any of our young uns can step to the squad.
Just **** off you sad weirdo ****, you're obsessed with me. That wasn't even being negative either you blithering idiot it was saying everyone would be hung over. Talk about missing the point.
**** right off. I know we'll have to rotate but I'd hope we'd put out something as close to resembling a first team as possible. Have you forgotten last season already?
No, but our cup run featured one PL team on the way to the final. Staying in this league is of the utmost importance, if we play close to a first team and lose AND pick up injuries, we're going to struggle. I couldn't give a **** about the FA Cup, or the league cup, not until we're an established PL team and can afford to be distracted.
3 players went off injured today, and jelly just got back from an injury. Rosie and Robertson's looked to be really bad. Now you want the first squad out there against Arsenal in a game that doesnt matter? Our injury list could almost fill a starting 11 at this point. No way should we put out any team even close to resembling our first team.
Don't think we can risk a first team against Arsenal, think a run is a long way away. I'd go with. Harper Mcshane Maguire Chester Figeuroa Ince Huddlestone Livermore Brady Aluko Sagbo
What would you have us do, play the development squad and get mullered 10-0? We just got a good win, now we need to build some momentum. There'll be changes obviously but some of them can handle the congestion. Jakupovic Elmo Chester Maguire Brady Huddlestone Livermore Aluko Quinn Ince Sagbo And you're wrong, it's not a game that doesn't matter.
Yes I would bring in the youth squad with the additions of those like Ince, Quinn, Aluko that needed some game time. I couldnt give 2 ****s if we lost 30-0. I care about keeping players off the injury list considering we are clearly going to be in a battle to avoid relegation this season. Getting knocked out against Arsenal in the FA cup isnt going to **** us, getting relegated with our current debt quite possibly could **** us.
If we had played this starting 11 against Leicester, I have no doubt we would be 3 points better off today. Leicester were the worst team from the PL I have seen visit the KC. Yet through a frankly bizarre team selection and no strikers in the first half - we lost. Much better today. Lots of threat, guile and creativity.
Ironic, how? I don't make an habit of insulting folk simply because they have a different opinion to me, whereas you thrive on it. I called you an arsehole because I would guarantee you would never speak to folk like that face to face. Good game today, a style that we could have enjoyed against Leicester; what stopped us? Here's one for you, Quill; do think bringing Rosenior on was sensible when we had Maguire chomping on the bit? Try speaking to folk in a civil manner and the conversations get better. In the meantime continue being an arsehole who doesn't understand irony (or football).
Playing players in the cup isn't going to relegate us. If we can use playing some first teamers in a game at the beginning of January as an excuse for being relegated, we've got no hope anyway. Rest those that have niggles and knocks, put out the strongest team of fit players possible. If we fill the team with kids and get battered, it will do no one any favours. Bad for the kids development and knock the confidence out of the seniors in the side. It's all about building momentum now.
