Wouldn't normally say this, but for once I would be fine with a much weakened team being put out for the FA cup
With our injuries I would seriously bring the entire youth squad in and let them play. 3 players leaving because of injuries today and all the other injuries we have I really wouldnt risk a single player over the FA cup this year.
The ref blew his whistle after Alcaraz flapped his hand in the ref's direction. Looked incredibly harsh if it was for either that or the challenge. Maybe he said something...
An excellent performance. The team worked really hard and it was great to see Jela and Hernandez causing Everton lots of problems. Everything seemed to click into place and credit to the manage and team for this performance. Up to 15th and things look much brighter. Need to use this as a platform to build on for the 2nd half of the season.
It doesn't have to be on purpose. It could just be a back pass to the goal keeper and they got it wrong.
Will McShane be involved, I wonder? Is he staying? I can see Brucey protecting the likes of McGregor, Davies, Meyler, Livermore and the top two and going with something like: Harper Chester McShane Maguire Elmo Huddlestone Quinn Ramirez Brady Aluko Sagbo Maybe Ince will start somewhere too.
A win and a bit of luck with other results away from 12th. Conversely, a defeat today would have seen us 19th. The most important thing today (other than the result, although that is a by-product) was the desire. The team has chased everything in the last few games and could easily have won the last 3. The injuries are a worry. Reckon Rosie might be out for a while. Thought we were going to struggle in the last half hour with square pegs and/or a change of formation but they saw it out quite comfortably. We've got the quality in the squad and we seem to have rediscovered a hard-working ethic. Hopefully the team will kick on from here. Good to hear the crowd nice and vocal anarl. I guess the first half performance helped that though.
