well when alan pardew decides he would rather go and manage a team thats 18th in the league with less than half our attendances, players of lesser ability then you know its bad.

Im not his biggest fan at all but i cannot see who there is out there who can improve the situation.

Apparently he spoke to fat mike and was told no money in january and possibly sissoko could go... is it any wonder that he feels like palace would be better? more wages too ive heard.

i only wish shearer wouldnt have taken over the last time and could have now... i would love somebody passionate about the club BUT while ashley is there i think its a no win situation.

 

Only under Mikes stewardship. I reckon there are plenty of reasons though. Possibly the transfer angle, but then you have Mikes possible sale, family, the abuse he gets, any number of reasons. I'm sure Pardew will have been silenced in his departure agreement.

 

To be fair its quite an achievement by Mike. Many managers will be sitting thinking "if Pardew, a decent manager, is happy to walk away from that job to go a relegation threatened club, what is wrong there? Are the fans that bad? Is the owner that much of a ****?"

In the 90's and early 2000's it was a job many fancied. Right on the cusp of success, guaranteed regular european football and big transfer budgets. Now it is like a poisoned chalice in many ways. Still more sought after than the mackem post of course, even Gus admitted that, but still we don't want to be using that as the barometer.

 

You know what? This article is based purely on speculation and nobody knows the facts. I've also read that Sissoko is going nowhere and Pardew thought it was the right time to make a fresh start. Why wouldn't he go? I think this is the best outcome for both partied tbh.

I'm sick of the pessimism. To say that this is 'an all time low' is ridiculous. Sorry, I don't mean to attack you but we could as easily end up with a decent manager as we could someone terrible. Just because we can't name someone in England out of work who'd take the job doesn't mean that a premiership team in mid-table is not an attractive proposition for someone looking for a way into English football, despite a limited transfer budget.

 

Had a laugh on Talksport this morning, Newcastle couldn't afford Tony Pullis's wages with him wanting £2 million and Newcastle only pay around ½ million a year. Our owner is worth nearly £4 BILLION for pity sake. Pay peanuts and get monkeys is the term that springs to mind.

 

We need to see who comes in first.

In the grand scheme of things it's hardly an all time low because Pardew has walked. If he'd been sacked as he should've, you'd probably be looking at it positively.

 

I can't agree that it's such a low. Many people wanted Pardew gone and he is as good as gone now.

Many people, including myself, want Ashley gone and that is only a season and a half away.

It's all change at Newcastle United and hopefully the new Manager & Owner will have some genuine talent and ambition respectively

 

I am still astounded as to how all of this is playing out.

Never have I seen anything take so long when Ashley's in charge. I am starting to have serious doubts as to whether Pardew is leaving. Okay, I will accept that it's odds on that Pardew is going but not at the odds of 1/20 offered and in fact I have decided to lay another ton at 1.05.

We've seen in the past when Ashley was supposed to be selling the club and then something pissed him off at the last minute and instead he remained in the hotel bar rather than going to meet the would be purchasers. We've had, supposedly, the details of compensation revealed to the newspapers and that is something that Ashley wouldn't like at all.

I would have expected Pardew to have been announced to the world that he's no longer an NUFC employee but we haven't.

So, looking at the mad theories that could counter that of Pardew going and there's a few.

For a start we know that Ashley isn't going to buy in January. So, one option that he does have is to unsettle the other clubs. If players who may be thinking that the want to play for Pardew, or not play for Pardew, elsewhere then until the ink has dried on the contracts then other players may baulk at going to Newcastle's rivals.

Secondly, we know that Ashley has taken a hit on the Tesco options so what about making a little on the side in the betting? Agree to split the proceeds with Pardew and then manipulate the betting markets. If he's played both sides of the Pulis Next In market then he'll have cleaned that up.


Then again in the next five minutes we may have McCoist in. Anyway, more important things to do today include the stocking up for tonight.

I couldn't give a less of a **** Pardew has gone. The cash is the main reason. Stress didn't effect him up here as his job was completely safe no matter what happened. Let's see what happens when those constant safety barriers are not there for him anymore. Perhaps then he will know about ****ing pressure.

 

Pardew took it up the arse but he did exactly what he was asked. It's too cold up here for him thats all. I would like Beardsley as manager.

why would pardew stay at a club whose supporters hate him? why would ashley make funds available when all you'll do is sign **** players? theres **** all progression at the moment with your club, i dont blame pardew for being so openly optimistic about leaving tbh

This has been going through my mind. I said on another thread that in the time it's taken Pardew to start putting his hat and coat on, West Brom have sacked one manager and appointed another. Why the hold up? I suspect Ashley is digging his heels in over something, which means it could go either way. But if after all this Pards stays because of something Ashley did or did not do, then that situation does not exactly bode well for harmonious relationships from here onwards ....

As far as Ashley is concerned there's a price on everyone and everything. Every player is reputed to have a price next to him in a list and if that offer is reached then off he goes.

Who is to say that the same doesn't apply to the manager?

 

Take your dick out of Pardew's mouth and worry about your own ****ing club.
