    Match Preview

RANGERS kick-start 2015 with a home fixture against Swansea City in the Barclays Premier League on New Year’s Day.

Harry Redknapp’s side, who sit in 15th place, will be keen to maintain their fine home form this season against a Swans side who head into the second half of the season occupying a top-ten position.

Garry Monk’s charges were well beaten at Liverpool on Monday night, losing 4-1 at Anfield, but their impressive season to date cannot be overlooked.

With the goals of Wilfried Bony and the ever-improving performances of Messrs Routledge, Dyer and Sigurdsson to name but a few, the Welsh side will pose a real threat in W12.

The two sides, of course, only crossed swords in the top-flight last month, when late goals from Ki Sung-Yeung and R’s old-boy Wayne Routledge sealed a 2-0 victory for the Swans at the Liberty Stadium.

Manager Harry Redknapp confirmed in his pre-match press conference that he had no fresh injury concerns ahead of the Swans visit.

Meanwhile, the R's boss revealed that injured midfielder Sandro was a couple of weeks away from a return to full fitness following a knee problem.

The trip to London will be the final involvement for Ki and Bony before they head join up with South Korea and the Ivory Coast respectively for their involvement in the Asian Cup and African Cup of Nations tournaments.

The Swans will, however, be minus the services of winger Jefferson Montero, who has been ruled out for a month with a hamstring strain.

City will also be without midfielder Jonjo Shelvey after he accepted an FA violent conduct charge and was given four-game ban.

The pace of change - preview
Wednesday, 31st Dec 2014 20:38 by Clive Whittingham
Teams surrounding QPR at the bottom of the Premier League are twisting rather than sticking. Harry Redknapp must do likewise, and not just in the transfer market, if the R's are to keep pace.

A year ago, the Queens Park Rangers supporters were recovering from a coma induced by a 0-0 draw at Watford - a football game so terrible, those in attendance actually left less intelligent than when they arrived. Whole IQ points were lost as Harry Redknapp pitched for a new striker in the January transfer window by making out like he had no forwards at all to select for the game, and played a flat midfield six instead.

He got his way: Mobido Maiga, Will Keane and Kevin Doyle were all shipped in. With hindsight, QPR would have been better off signing the men from the Rice Krispies advert.

Now 12 months on QPR are fifteenth in the Premier League at the turn of the year. If you’d suggested that outcome to any of the travelling faithful as they pushed aside a police barricade in their desperation to flee the horror laid before them at Vicarage Road early, like braindead X Factor disciples shoving perfect strangers to the ground in Asda because 50 notes have been knocked off a technically unsound Korean television set, they’d have laughed so hard they’d have struggled to hold their bladders. Two big fingers from Harry to all doubters. Once they’d finished laughing they’d have ripped your arm off and licked the shoulder joint clean for the current position.

Really nervous about this one. I missed the City and Liverpool games, so this is my first sight of us against a team which I think is pretty good. Plus, of course, there is the nightmare memory of the last time we played them at home. I turned up to that one really optimistic, we'd signed a load of players, were aiming for a solid finish in the league, kicking on. I don't think we ever recovered from it.

    COME ON YOU R's!!!!!!!

The actual basic thread takes about fifteen minutes. It's the researching of the photo's that takes the most time. Not only do you have to find a relevant picture but you have to try and find two that are similar in size. The teams graphic adds about twenty minutes to it as well. I'd say it takes about an hour on average.
