firstly this is not another Cellino bashing tread and I don't want it to be. There's dozens of them up and running for those that want to participate. I'm looking for solutions. Cellino is owner so calls the shots and it's in his hands to try stop the rot if he's let or has the know how. All the Cellino out cries in the world won't make any difference as there is no replacement in the wings at the moment. A super rich Arab with money to burn seems the only hope at this point in time. Everything about the club is sub standard and needs replacing from directors management and players

You are 100% right, but until Cellino accepts he is always going to fail and sells his stake we won't improve. The model heis imposing on us will only work if you have money to buy a team of world beaters.

I can't see a solution because I dont think he is big enough to admit he has failed here.

He needs to buy out GFH and buy the ground, then when he gets bored of us and accepts his way of doing things doesn't work he can sell us to someone like Redbull.

I recall not so long ago that Leeds were being hammered on here for playing hoofball with a squad of past it jobsworths. The great & the good here all concluded that we needed to build a team from scratch, introduce young players & develop a passing style. Swansea were held up to be the shining example, where they did this & maintained their style by appointing coaches that fitted their style, as opposed to the other way round. Now that Cellino has listened to that & did exactly what was asked of him on here, suddenly it's not good enough. We want to employ managers who buy their own players again. Exactly the same system that built us a squad of old overpaid has-beens. Such short memories on here.

So, Eire, I for one believe that Cellino's way is the solution. And certainly the only one available at short notice. It's also the solution we all agreed was best on here, prior to Cellino's takeover. Now that we've started along this path, people are bottling it. They only saw the upside of the plan & didn't consider that there might be a downside. Everyone now appears to either turn back to the old ways that we detested or to hang on to some middle east sugar daddy takeover fantasy. We've had both & we know exactly where those paths took us - right up to the Cellino takeover.

Side before self, a certain gentleman once said. We must all adopt that, and think of the long term.

Totally agree with that WJ, younger players with potential to improve, passing style of football etc

Then we got Hockaday and it all went downhill from there

It would have made so much more sense to employ a quality coach

I agree with your comments WJ.

With respects Forza, Hockaday was not the ideal coach however, people are forgetting that it was he who introduced, and got the players playing on the ground football as opposed to BM's hoofball tactics. While his coaching abilities were not up to scratch, I think we should give credit to him for getting the team to play passing football.

Both Darko and Redders benefitted from that legacy by having players that were already playing passing football, all they had to do was take it to next level.

Rumour has it Cellino is considering his options in regards to Redders, it's only a rumour at this stage, don't shoot the messenger.

Could bring in Pep G. But if dickhead is still deciding who we buy and the formation it won't make a blind bit of difference. It's a shame he is too proud to see he is clueless on modern english football.

There has been some good coaches/managers this season out of work e.g. Pulis, Malky Mackay, Houghton but to name afew, who i think would jump of the chance to come to a big club like ours, WHY has this not happened, answers on a post card for that please.

Also i do not have the time or patience to trawl back through threads but a long time back i did mention we should get Big Mick in, and i was laughed at or told he was not good enough, people not saying that now!! look at those tractor boys position, and who is the big name players there....NONE, sign of a good manager.

I'm still a Cellino fan because he is the only person in a dozen years who has put cash into the club. The club is fooked financially because of past owners and he seems to be sorting it out, as well as fighting Harvey at the FL. His problem started when he brought in Hock because he was out of his depth. he compounded it by bringing in Darko, and at that time Redders had success as a caretaker, and he got Darko's job soon after. Redders was never the man and still isn't and that's obvious now and needs changing, but will we stay up this season, looking doubtful.

Cellino has brought in some good talent, but feel that Redders will only play his kids and favorites. I also think that Cellino should have made sure he brought in an enforcer, a Vinny type player who can lead and inspire. If we had that one person we would be fine, oh and getting rid of Redders diamond.

You're a man after my own heart Doc, I agree in regards to the academy lads.

It's been noticeable for a while now, and while they're all good players with talent, they haven't been playing up to the form that got them noticed last season. The midfield with Mowatt and Cook in it doesn't seem to be working, we keep getting overrun in midfield, but Redders seems to be building his team around them.

Byram, while I rate him hasn't got back to the form of his first season, definitely not since his injury, and teams seem to be targeting his side for wing attacks, both goals against Derby came from his side.

Mind you, having said that, Byram also plays the role of wing attack, then has to double back to defend, that's a lot of pressure and spent energy for a young kid, and there doesn't seem to be any help from Cook.

Redders said the other day that we lack width, well, he has Monty sitting on bench who is a winger and striker, but he refuses to use him.
