Tommorrow myself and the other half are coming over to hull and staying over to see how it has changed (and to go to the deep again). What food places would you recommend in the centre and other attractions/places of interest. Ferensway Art Gallery is already on my list as I remember it being decent.

The Deep is pretty popular with out of towners. There's the new Hull History Centre behind New Theatre. Plenty of food places in St. Stephens these days.

Anyone heard anything about a new Pizza Express in Prinny Quay?

Ferens has the new David Hockney painting on exhibition at the minute - massive thing covering a whole wall.

Food, depends if you're wanting something near your hotel? Koo on Newland Avenue is really good. The Laundry is meant to be really good on Princes Avenue. Hull Truck do good meals in the city centre, The Wilson on the marina is meant to be really good. If you want meals in a good setting, try princes dock street (down the side of Princes Quay) plenty of choice down there with Rayella10, Leonardo's, Cuckoo's and McCoys all there, with Soho Lounge and Zilli's nearby.

Wilson's do fantastic Italian Ice Creams too. Might need a second mortgage though!

I used to get annoyed by the Deep. It's always packed and you can't really look at anything for the time you want to.

Then I did a weeks work experience there and it put me off for life.

Definitely don't go and eat in St.Stephens, you can't come to experience Hull, then eat in a shopping centre that could be anywhere.

The Wilson on the Marina is decent(particularly if you fancy a steak), or if you like fish and you're feeling flush, there's Cerruti's round the corner. Alternatively, as dazzar has suggested, the Laundry is getting decent reviews at the moment and there's the Boars Nest just next to it(definitely don't eat next door in Pave though), though both of these are on Princes Ave, so a bit out of the city centre.

Take a drive down Hessle Road and visit that vast open space formerly known as Boothferry Park. Maybe cross the Humber Bridge whilst its still cheap. It goes upto £ soon. Lol. Enjoy ya visit.

The Maritime Museum, so you can pretend you're being eaten by that stuffed Polar Bear.

Prinny Quay or St.Stephen's? Are you lot having a laugh?

I would recommend The Wilson as OLM said - only been a couple of times, but never heard a bad word from anybody else, definitely top notch <ok>

OLM surprised about your comment on the food in PAVE, I've always found it pretty good, not top of range but ok for what you pay.
And I still like the place, original and best, surely you can resonate with thal mate.

I think the foods crap in there, I've often been in for a drink, but I gave up eating there years ago.

One of the owners is a mate of mine, I hope he doesn't come on here. :emoticon-0111-blush

Maybe lost in memmories of yesteryear. The Bombay Duck at the top of Hessle Road is also worth a visit. One price for eating as much as you can get down is always a winner.

If you're having lunch as well and like chinese, Wokkas opposite St.Stephen's is brilliant for lunch - 2 courses and a drink, something like £6.20 - great service and cooked in front of you.
