Player of the first quarter is Tadic in my view. Player of the first half is Toby in my view, with Clyne coming a close second. And Bertrand third.
Not to get anyone excited, but it's being suggested in the papers that Koeman is trying to get Toby to sign permanently in January. Toby's stance still being 'wait and see at the end of the season'.
i saw that this morning, it says that a fee of 6.3 million has been set but Atletico can buy out of the agreement for 1.5 million. So what happens if Atletico don't want to buy out but Toby doesn't want to sign?
These things are difficult and as with Sky's top 10 goals of 2014, often it is about the timing of the asking. I've read these posts, and one person picked Pelle, one other person mentioned him and not one mention for Tadic. Now I'm not saying they get my vote, but those two players have come in and for 14 games been absolutely excellent in a new league. Special mentions at least deserved, even if the last few they may have gone off the boil. I can't select one player, so I'll pick Koeman.
Davis has been key as shown when he was out. I think lots of people whilst stating he has been outstanding don't realise just how outstanding he has been. All those people who over past seasons said he slowed down our play should notice that when Davis plays we attack much much quicker and crisply. The passes are shorter and quicker. When he doesn't play there are a lot more 'hollywood' passes from Morgan and Fonte.
What is noticeable is how Tadic has fallen away....he would have stormed it if he had continued as he started.
The poll should really have been multiple choice, so we could all vote for everybody... I'm joking of course, but just how do you compare players doing completely different jobs? I agree about Davis, although he wasn't as strong in the Palace game, maybe the responsibility of being captain got to him? And Tadić is coming back from injury, so he'll be back on form soon. I always knew Toby would do well, but if the poll was about which player has been the biggest surprise it would have to be Bertrand.
