Had good placement and composure on him from what I remember, what do others feel about a potential purchase?
I'm a big fan of Giuseppe Rossi, stylish play, good work rate and scores goals. Rossi would be my 1st choice out of all the names we have been linked with.
Hell of a lot of money. You would have to be pretty damn sure before you spent that much. I suppose if Barca were interested, he's no donkey. However, you have to ask why did that deal suddenly fall apart? Do Barca consider the fee being asked to be excessive?
It's hard to know whether this is Redknapp trying to give Levy a rather unsubtle nudge in public or an attempt to distract people from our real targets. I'm guessing the former, though. We seem to be after Rossi and Llorente, in my opinion. I think Barca just ran out of money to try and get all of their targets, so they've had to narrow it down a bit, NSS. They obviously need some new players after their pitiful performances last season.
Good point PNP. I can't see who he would replace in that side. Pedro, maybe? I suppose Barca wouldn't mind having him, if the price was right. But, they do have that Mucky bloke, or whatever is name is. I think he scored a couple of goals for them last season.
I hear when Barcelona get Fabregas, they will push Iniesta forward to play on the left with Messi on the right and Villa up top with Pedro as backp/squad rotation. Their midfield will be Fabregas, Xavi and Busquets with Mascherano back up/squad rotation.
It really is quite amazing to read comments like this from a Spurs manager in the middle of a transfer window. Time will explain the motive behind this, is it a clever blind, is it to be taken at face value? At the end of this window either Harry will come out smelling of roses or what? At the moment it would appear we have Harry fighting for funds from Levy in public. If I am to believe that what does it say about the relationship between Harry & Levy? Hmm! one of the most interesting reports to date even though it tells us nothing...............................at the moment.
Yes. Spurf. It does sound like a bit of unsubtle arm twisting by Harry. But then, sublety has never exactly been one of Harry's strong points, has it?
Does the reporter, with a qualification in English you'd presume, know what 'urge' means? I just don't see any urging at all. Harry was asked his opinion of a player we tried to sign, and he gave it. Another journotwat manipulating some straight forward questions into some BS. ...and Luke, what statement? Don't go down the sly wummage route.
Back in January we dismissed the various reports stating we were making a bid for Rossi, so either we've changed our minds, or he's one of those numerous players we are perpetually linked to (see also: Bojan Krkic, Scott Parker, Joe Cole...)
Why would he join you? He hates England, plays in a better league and in a team which are competing in the champions league, you wasted your chance to buy a good striker.
Because there's more money at Tottenham than there is at Villarreal. Want to back that one up? He plays for a team that finished fourth. We've finished fourth too, y'know. Wait, we only had one all year? DAMMIT!
A sincere post: Teams that could finish above you: 1: United 2: Chelsea 3: Man City 4: Liverpool 5: Arsenal 6: Everton 7: QPR (bound to spend big) 8: Everton (can't start badly every season) 9: Newcastle (once they reinvest the Carroll money) 10: A surprise package Spurs have no divine right to finish in the top ten and it is plausible that they won't. I think this year they are likely to come 8th
Woah. QPR?.?.? A newly promoted team? And as for spending big, they haven't spent any so far. Newcastle - Reinvest the Carroll money? Everyone knows Mike Ashley will keep at least 50% of it. If having new money means higher placing, then why didn't you include Sunderland (40m in total from Bent and Henderson)? Or Blackburn (Phil Jones money)? Pretty poor wum attempt in my opinion.
