Sky reporting that Pulis, Bruce and Sherwood are not being considered for the job which is good news.

It's going to be carver isn't it <sigh>

I agree - Bruce, Pulis, Sherwood... Not what we need. Like you though, the fact that they are being ruled out though doesn't give me any hope that we will actually end up with what we need.

Carvers track record is very poor. Poor at Toronto. Poor when given caretaker roles at Leeds and Sheffield Utd. Poor when taking over from Pardew last season during his headbutt ban. If we are going to wait until summer before a permanent appointment is made then I'd rather we take more of a gamble with the caretaker position and see what Beardsley can do.

I hate these extended caretaker roles, as they usually result in the individual leaving the club rather than stepping back down. I'm not sure if that's a bad thing or not as i'd imagine most of the first team coaches to change with the appointment of a new manager/coach.

Perfectly fine why for us to go, if it means we can get a better manager in the Summer. Don't know who it would be, but summer best time to appoint a full time manager. If Carver does well then give him the job full time.

    I've got a feeling that's Ashley's policy also
he won't have to pay out any money

Pullis says he's pulled out also after his agents were told Ashley & Carr want a say in team selection. What sort of manager would accept these terms, Carver??. Not boding well

My definition of doing well and his are probably two different things.

    Ashley probably 17th
    Me improvement on current position.

Not that it means anything at this stage, but Carver's shot in to outright favourite. Still 3's, so not nailed on as such, but it's looking likely. Fits nicely with Ashley's policy of promoting people without bothering to backfill their previous role. Fcking tightfisted piece of sh1t that he is.

Yesterday one could have laid Pulis at just over 4s so one can't really see anything from these markets at all.

If you're convinced its going to be Carver, get your money on him.
If its not him, you're a winner, and if it is, you can collect your winnings.
Win Win really and a Happy New Year with Carver.

If we could get Klinsmann or some other german I'd be psyched. Definitely a foreigner, German or french preferably. We've had enough english managers, half our team is french. It makes sense to get a french manager, maybe even a chance or getting Cabs back, or at least get something out of Hatem/Marveaux/Gouf

    Really?

I want an English Manager and Steve McClaren looks about the best option if we can't convince Eddie Howe to leave Bouremouth <ok>

I would welcome more British players too, I just don't believe that many of the foreign players give 'two hoots' about our club.

I think Travelsick's plan is better, but I think the next appointment will set in stone Ashley's intentions with the club. Cheap, free (or already at the club) and English, he's obviously buggering off soon.

If he gives it to a Frenchy etc, he's here long haul.

I will put big money on Ashley being gone the season after next, if not before. He's looking to rape Rangers now and good luck to him.

Pardew has gone and Ashley won't be far behind him hopefully :)

Yeah I'm thinking this too. I've always thought it odd that Ashley was trying to implement Arsenal's model, but without a Wenger type manager, and there are a couple of decent candidates to do that job. Now would be a good time to do that, if he was so inclined, but all the recent noises and strategy seem to be about catching the last chopper out of Saigon. Carver, or a desperado like Worthington probably about right :(
