Gonna have to go for a win, its simply a must win anyway. Lets hope Gerrard's inclusion doesn't effect us too badly.
Could well be. If there's a prediction league I am going for 3-1 lfc sterling scorer You lot need to remember we played Monday so that extra hours rest all adds up here
Now I dont like to talk about Suso much. But, he is back in training and just about every photo on the website today was of him. Really would not be surprised given the fixture conjestion if we see him playing over the next couple of games. Place on the bench (with 30 mins against leicester) and then more time in the cup could give him the opportunity to start work on a new contract. His tweets suggesting he cant wait to get on the pitch. Really hope to see him thursday (in the second half.)
We should be winning this game and we seem to have stumbled upon the right players to suit this system. I expect Lovren to come into the back line ahead of Toure because im sure Rodgers is desperate to get Lovren into the team, and it will be in a game where the opposition won't attack as much. Same with Gerrard - this is a game where we'll dominate and attack so Gerrard shouldn't be exposed. Note that this isn't what I want but what I think rodgers will do.
Gerrard will no doubt come in even though I'd rather he was rested and started against Wimbledon at the weekend.
Only change I'd make would be the forced one of Toure for Skrtel Midfield was dynamic, pressed from the first to the last minute, quick sharp passing, lovely movement and no one was having to do the running for anyone else.. Not having a dig a Gerrard, but if possible, I keep him on the bench. Taken Rodgers a while to work on a system thats getting the best out of the current players now stick with it and don't compromise (well, until Sturridge is back). But, saying that, agree with others, Manpillow will be dropped, Hendo moved out there where is less effective and Gerrard bought back in.. Watch for poor old Lucas to be over-run in midfield if thats the case!
I'd still move away from 3 at the back. -------------Mingo---------- Manq-Toure-Sakho-Moreno -----Lucas-----Can-------- ----------Henderson------ Lallana-------------Coutinho ------------Sterling--------
the good thing about having manquillo, moreno and can in is you can play 3-4-3 like this but if a side pins the two wide players back totally you can got 4-3-3 in an instant and change it up without a sub. for me the importnat thing is no passengers and pressing as a unit lucas has played quite a few here i expect him to be rested next for gerrard... thats just reality.
so how do you give him a go... who do you drop for him? The fa cup is likely his chance.... but he's approaching end of contract so.... if he better now than markovic? i mean markoivc showed nothing for 6 months but suso got injured. now he's back markovic has shown a wee bit of form so he is the option off the bench. Rodgers has coutinho, sturridge, sterling, lallana and then markovic.. suso has a job on his hands there. Yes rodgers signed two of those options last summer so maybe he doesn't rate the kid.
I think Rodgers has pretty much confirmed we will be seeing 3 at the back until Sturridge returns as, in his words, it gives us creativity and helps make up for lack of a recognised striker
He doesn't rate him but I'd say he's a better option than Markovic and that when Coutinho is having an off day or runs out of steam Suso should be the man to replace him, same for Lallana really he's not been anything special. He fits our system well Rodgers just needs to recognise that.
