Well, thank fckfully, Mr. Worthington has disappeared into the long grass. Now the third favourite behind Bruce and Sherwood, in from the cold, is Christophe Galtier. This is on the basis that Ashley wants Sherwood, Charnley wants the Frenchman and Carr wants Bruce.

    Allegedly.

That said, perhaps someone who knows Oddschecker can explain why only 3 bookies are offering odds?? And those would be Sky, BetVictor and Paddy. Not a lot of integrity there.

Because most bookies suspend betting at the end of their working day. Nearly all of them were running a book on this today Don't worry, they'll all be there with their prices in the morning. <ok>

Down hear in the Midlands there are lots of people saying it's Steve McClaren, Colo not in the frame and Sherwood being interviewed for West Brom job.

Pulis will get the West Brom gig. Sherwood is a decent shout bearing in mind Ashleys 'connection' with Spurs. I reckon the two will know each other and we know how Ashley likes chums around him. Regardless of what Charnley / Carr / whoever want, it is the fat man that will ultimately decide who will come in.

Out of the names mentioned so far as being realistic targets then this is about the only one that I would be remotely happy with. The others being mentioned as likely are all a step down from Pardew.

Nigel Worthington? <doh> He walked out on York City as his last job didn't he?

Steve Bruce has proved he is an excellent Championship Manager, but always seems to fail in the Premier League.

Still got a feeling it will be Tony Pulis - he won't go to WBA unless they completely restructure their set-up.

Sherwood is simply a younger version of Pardew - bang average and full of himself.

I would give Eddie Howe his own personal jet so he can commute to and from the south coast <ok>

Steve Bruce has gone top in the bookies table!

Can't say I'm overly fond of anybody being associated with Newcastle having previously been deemed "the wally with a brolly"... But at least his attempt to fit in with the locals by trying the accent would be hilarious...

I have it on good authority that after 3 day's on the Grecian 2000, Pardew is to apply for the job as " the good young manager " the fans are demanding.

It's a matter of who will want the job. I think any fair minded football fan feels for you guys with an owner like Ashley. Unfortunately, he'll just appoint another puppet (muppet ) or Yes man.

That being the case I'd like Animal, he was always my favourite puppet. He is described as "the ultimate representation of a long line of Muppets who personify unbridled appetite", both "carnivorous beast" and "physical manifestation of pure libido."

However we'll obviously get Kermit - "Reasonably even-tempered and often long-suffering, the small green frog generally serves as the glue that holds the rest of the Muppet universe together".

McClaren was asked about the job last night and basically avoided the question. I think he'd be a great appointment personally.

That's a shame, I was looking forward to the cartoons of him and Ashley as the Fat Slags.
