I was told yesterday that he has been offered the job, and has accepted it. Betting suspended on the market this morning. Just another reason now to hate the Nigels.
Amazing considering that MA gave him such a huge deal money wise and length as well, if he walks he gives up a lot of money and i thought he was a money grabber, so seems little odd he would move to CP, but as DP says they deserve each other, and i pray he cant turn them around and they get relegated
He is hated at Newcastle and Ashley couldn't afford to sack him as he's not that far into a 8 year deal. Perhaps Ashley gave him a million to accept the Palace job. Cheap way out.
He will still be entitled to his money if Newcastle accept an offer. I'm sure he won't resign and miss out on a pay day.
He must have his reasons but job security sure as heck won't be one of them. The only thing he can be sure of is that it won't be long before he becomes the next former manager of Crystal Palace.
I bumped into a Newcastle scout a couple of months back. It was around the time that Pardew was odds on to get the bullet. Anyway, he told me that Pardew's 8yr contract had a 12mth severence/pay out built in.
I hope this is true. I loathe the man. I can't stand Palace. I remember how useless he was for us (and how expensive) so I honestly reckon this will not only slide Palace back into the Championship, but effectively deal with the advantage they might have with the parachute payments (which I think Pardew believes are just a sort of bonus add-on for crap managers who don't want to be in tier 2 anymore). Apart from urine, two p's that deserve easch other are Palace and Pardew. The players had better start keeping an eye on their wives.
I was told this info by a football agent from a League One club on Sunday who has done deals with Newcastle. In his words "Newcastle can't believe their luck and want shot of him yesterday". Expect fat Andy Woodman, "goalkeeping coach" on £150,000 a year but in reality a Pardew arse licker, to follow big nose from Tyneside to Thornton Heath.
Andy Woodman never impressed me with his coaching methods. He was more an individual that players were happy to go down the pub with. It appears they are going to be investing heavily in January. Lucky for us we know how useless he is with money. Graham Carr was the man behind the Cabaye's etc at Newcastle.
