Pin your colours to the managerial flag-post of one of these wonderful contenders...

I hope Eddie Howe but I have the horrible feeling it's going to be Tony Pulis :(

Jesus, those options are frikkin bleak, except maybe Klopp. I said it two seasons back when we were calling for his head back then...we should be careful what we wish for.

Honestly I can see Beardo being given a stab at it for the remainder of the season with Stone still there as his No2 and the fat controller will bide his time and see who else might be available next summer....if he hasn't sold up of course !

Hoddle, Bruce, McLaren....**** me if that's how far we have fallen to be even giving serious consideration to those 3 clowns then things are extremely bad. Of course any one of them would jump at the chance I reckon but regardless of who it is the deciding factor is gonna be how much control they are gonna be allowed to have in the transfer market, agreeing to the clubs transfer policy and of course having some money to spend and preferably not having to sell first before buying.

I wonder if HBA is sitting with his fingers crossed hoping he gets a recall back to the north-east?

I don't see McClaren as a bad option.

He's got a good record if he stays more than thirty games!

I voted other, as it will be John Carver
we never have a plan in place when we let someone go for money

by the way Carver has a 100% win rate with his previous stint as manager at Newcastle

the more I think about it

would a new manager want to work with the existing team coaches ??
they normally want their own people to work with,
if he is allowed to bring in his own staff, there would be compensation to pay out to get those people in (that's if they are employed)
and to pay off the remainder of the ludicrous 8 year contracts that were given to the existing coaching staff
can't see Ashley wanting to pay out compo
so, what type of manager would take on this job,----- if he's not already here

I suspect if Pardew was going to take any of the back room staff, it would be Woodman. Carver and Stone were basically there to give a Geordie element in the change room. Not something he's gonna need at Palace.

Who knows which way Ashley will go.
Think he'll keep it in-house and limp along until the summer and then re-assess options.

Pulis could be an option I suppose, but unlikely he would work long term for Ashley.

I'm amazed that you have included Eddie Howe in your list. There is no way that he would leave Bournemouth as he is dedicated to that club. A previous spell at Burnley was curtailed because he couldn't settle in the North. Although I am a Saints fan. what Howe has achieved at Bournemouth is incredible given that they had previously been struggling in League 2. There is no way that he would even consider Newcastle.

I am surprised that you haven't add Ronald Koeman in your list. Surely the most surprising success story in this season's EPL. You seem to have included everyone else! There have been rumours about Newcastle wanting Koeman in the past but , again, he wouldn't leave a well-run club for a basket case club run by Ashley. I wouldn't be surprised if McCoist was named your next manager.

Amazed at the employment of Pardew at Newcastle. We were sad to see him leave Saints but the revelations that emerged after his departure made it clear that, despite the Johnson Paint Trophy success, we needed someone else at the helm/

Hearing plenty of names I just don't see. Eddie Howe why leave Bournemouth now? Do Carver or Coloccini have the appropriate badges to manage in the Premier League? As for Steve McClaren this guy cost Sports Direct a lot of money by being the England manager who failed to qualify for Euro 2008, so really don't see Ashley going there. The way the club has gone about it's business during the Alan Pardew reign is a continental way of doing things, so I would expect it to be a foreign manager. Someone like De Boer in the summer would be a very good move if we could get him.

Evening gents, QPR fan here in peace
I obviously like every other supporter in the Prm am following this great intrest and i genuinely hope it works out for you. ive had a lot of good times in the North east ans have been to St James Park (Not the F-king Sport **** what-ever) on quite a few occasions. i must also going to Sunderland but plaease dont crucify me for it. To many nights out in The Ship finally did me in...

Anyway, i just wondered if you could explain the part i highlighted. WHY exactly would those manager want to leave where they are to come to a team with an owner that is a bit iffy to say the least.
MacClaren is coaching his former club and his Mrs is happy to be back at home.
Hoddle is lined up to take us over with Les Ferdinand and put their mark on our club as they worked together at Spuds. Only sherwood to come.
And TBH i dont see Bruce leaving where he is to come to you for obvious reasons.
i know you have a huge fan base but in reality, trophies have been short of late and the owner doesnt inspire confidence.

Just the way i see it as an outsider and wondered why (or if) you genuinely believe that comment?

Anyway, good luck for the rest of the season (except against us of course) and cant wait to see ho you end up with

"welcome to managerial merry go round...sack your man and see what come up...!" <ok>

I would prefer Eddie Howe. I think it will be Beardsley. Not sure Colo will have the required badges? However it would not surprise me if it was someone like Curbishley!

It'll be someone left-field we've not considered thus far, because doing so would be the act of a crazy person. Ashley is cray cray.
