It would certainly be that. Guaranteed to plummet after 2 seasons. The thing is it suits Ashley for them to stay exactly where they are. No up, no down, no cost.

I still think Ally McCoist is in with a shout.

    1). The Rangers connection.
2). He`s on gardening leave. ie paid for doing nothing. Ashley could get him for free. Ashley likes free.
    3). Rangers owe him £3m.

    Think about it.

The sad thing about all of this is that those loveable lads, John Carver and Steve Stone, may find themselves out of work.

As if being hammered every derby wasn't bad enough for these true Geordie heroes .............

Carver until the end of the season?
They aren't going to get relegated, and perhaps a club without a manager is a more attractive proposition to a potential buyer

Remember, we're talking about 'one of the top jobs in world football' as it was described by the club.

I'd love to see Pulis come in and play his 'anti-football' to see them moaning that 'it's not wor style yer nar, we're suppursed to be the entertainers!'

His spending record is not too bad, its his ability to coach that is poor, he is unable to improvise and players seem to fall out with him very quickly after initial success, he is well short of being a leader, the bigger the task the worse he performs.

I don't understand you mackems. I thought you wanted pardew to stay because we all dislike him, now you're rejoicing in the fact that he might be leaving?

Amazing isn't it, some people have differing opinions and all 'Mackems' don't think & speak in unison <ok>

I can't see that much rejoicing other than the disruption it will cause and the prospect of bringing another unliked by you lot.

IIRC the Chronicle poll had Pardew on around 2% approval rate when he arrived.

I reckon Ashley will take the cheap option and keep the backroom staff which will mean bringing in someone prepared to work with the likes of Carver.

    Who would you like mate?
