Even if we make the assumption that 11 eedjit celtic fans were arrested for attempting to invade the pitch - who cares?
I never wrote an article claiming that 11 Mariners fans were arrested. You on the other hand.............................
But you wrote a comment saying they were all Mariner fans. Then you backtracked when you realised you were wrong. Can you show me ONE piece of evidence to suggest any of those 11 were Mariner fans. For my evidence I Have provided you with photos and newspaper article. What have you got?
Look idiot, you have already misquoted me twice but you are still doing it, I at no time said the people arrested were Mariners fans, I said "Would it not be fair to suggest that some (if not all) the fans misbehaving were Central Coast Mariners fans?" Which part of that is hard to comprehend? Interestingly enough I found this on an Aussie fans forum and here are some of the comments regarding the game. If you think these are atypical or I am misquoting/being selective feel free to have a look and get back to me. http://au.fourfourtwo.com/news/208177,celtic-start-tour-with-defeat.aspx As a Victory member I can assure this will be the best pre season friendly Victory will ever play you might get 40k to Juve or 80k to Man Utd, but you don't get Celtic supporters at those games and they are the best in the world at creating an atmosphere, ask anyone who went to the game in Brisbane and they will tell you Celtic was the best friendly match they have been too. ---------------------------- Clearly not enthused by the on-field fare, a few spectators in the 19,482-strong crowd tried to create their own entertainment by running on to the field during the halftime break and in the second half. -------------------------------- That's emabarrassing to celtic. The game was boring, celtic were boring. Thanks to the idiot celtic fans that invaded the pitch at least when they got tackled it livened the place up a fraction. --------------------------------- The Celtic fans however were fantastic. --------------------------------- Excellent friendly banter, good for a chat after the game. Lots of spirit and laughs. Just wonderful. Good luck on the rest of your tour and thanks for a great memory. Sorry, there are several positives: * the Mariners did the A League proud - even allowing for the fact it was a friendly, they were never outplayed; * the Celtic fans proved what many of us said after the Rangers games last year - there is a massive qualitative difference between Celtic and Rangers fans - no shrapnel tossed at rival fans, no bigoted ranting, etc * it may have been the acoustics at ANZ, but the much-vaunted Celtic singing was disjointed, sporadic and. strangely, at times almost inaudible - the Cove would have held their own, and the Victory crowd should do so as well. ------------------------------------- They don't just say it: it's a fact that Rangers' fans are the "bad ones". The difference between last night's match and last year's Rangers matches was the difference between chalk and cheese. Where was the singing of racist and bigoted songs by Celtic supporters? Where was the pelting of rival fans with pieces of metal? Where were the screaming sectarian rants at rival fans? Look a bit further abroad: do Celtic fans send bombs and bullets to Rangers officials? I'm not a Celtic fan, but this persistent belief or claim that "one side's as bad as the other" just doesn't hold water when it comes to comparing Rangers and Celtic fans. Oh, and for what it's worth, Rangers last year were far better value for money that the Celts last night; it's just a pity that the opposite is true of their fans. ------------------------------------- Sounds as if it was a real powderkeg eh Medro?
You're wasting your time Dev, he just ignores anything you say unless it suits him and his argument (which is never!) He just prattles on, repeating the same thing over and over until everyone gets bored then he claims he's won the argument.
So lets for get about the (if not all) remark, can you show me a link to show were it means that ONE of those 11 was a Mariners fan? Like I said drunken behaviour, assault and storming the pitch cannot be condoned by someone on a football forum because 'otherwise the game would have been boring.'
I think you're right ST, although I already knew as much, would you believe this tit is actually now on about Jock Stein not getting a seat on our board on another thread Never heard that one before, I wonder what he's inferring?
Like I said, you want to add any credit to you ranting, then show me a link that states that even just ONE of those ELEVEN was a Mariner fan?
You do realise he was asking a question not stating a fact? Of course you don't. What was I thinking?
He was stating his opinion. Look he first said that there were no Celtic fans arrested, then perhaps there were 1 or 2. The Scotsman said all 11 were Celtic fans, I have seen 3 photo's myself of Celtic fans on the pitch. Scotzine, run by a Celtic fan, has said the trouble was Celtic fans. I have provided all this, yet he ignores it all. All I am asking is that if he wants to try and claim that even ONE of those ELEVEN was a Mariner fan, he should backup his claims.
