Rangers did not make the announcement you clown, it was from the Belfast telegraph.

Just like when Kayal signed for Celtic it was in the papers about him being a muslim playing for Israel.

What religion is our new Israeli?

Given his name is Omar, he's probably muslim.

    The point is:

It doesn't matter and no-one gives a flying one <ok>

Medro is one of these people who want to shout from the rooftops when Rangers sign a Catholic, as if somehow it should be worthy of note.

I think it is worthy, as some people on here are even doubting the story is true. Sadly those people are unable to get their minds round the fact that the club has changed.

So you had a sectarian signing policy for years and now you don't?

    Good for Rangers <ok>

We had an unwritten rule were the managers would not sign catholic players from after WW2 to about 1987 when MoJo signed. But we have since moved on.

    Most people know that.

Don't Celtic still to this day have an unwritten rule were a Protestant cannot sit on the board?

So you broke the rule about 24 years ago.

    Why is this news today?

If it's an "Unwritten rule" then you can't prove it can you?

What does it matter anyway, I don't care what religion people at Celtic are. You however seem to be fixated with religion and you're from Belfast. That's highly unusual.

It was in the Belfast Telegraph because it's not often the you get a GAA player moving to Rangers.

Its hardly news. Rangers once tried to sign a young red haired lad from County Armagh who played GAA at county minor level (higher levels than this lad indeed i believe) - he went to Man City instead - didnt make it there but went on to play for a decent Leicster side and played for NI and other clubs <whistle>

So its not new for Rangers to try and sign up talented youngsters regardless of backgrounds -so dunno why you felt the need to post it on the Celtic board???

Well then take your gripe up with The Belfast Telegraph editor.

No, why is the news that Rangers have signed a Catholic news today if you broke the rule nearly 1/4 of a century ago?

i should re-phrase - its hardly news that should be posted on the Celtic boards.

Celtic (and indeed rangers) sign hundreds of young lads from all backgrounds, muslim, catholic, prod, jedi every year.

I can see why the telegraph felt it news - a young NI lad signing for a world class team is news there. but there is no relevance to Celtic, unless you are on the wind up

ps Niall Mcginn was a top Tyrone Gaa player - probably would have had an all ireland medal or 2 by now had he not chose soccer.

    he's ****e at the soccer

so i wouldnt get too excited by this star just yet

hell John Fleck was a teenage soccer star and he's ****e too.....and he's still at the same sport

Simply pointing out a fact. Mr Stein left your club in quite an unpleasant manner because he wa not allowed on the board. Your best ever manager, shoved out the door.

    You're ignoring the question again.

    Let me rephrase it:

You seem to think the fact that you've signed a Catholic is the newsworthy part - hence why you put it on the Celtic board - but you also admit that the non-signing of Catholics policy was broken 24 years ago.

    WHY IS THIS NEWS NOW?

Is there any chance you'll answer the question this time?
