Moreno, Coutinho and Sahko the stand out performers so far for us. I'd like to see Markovic get on and stretch Swansea's back line as it's more than likely they'll have to push forward to. Still, good first and half.

Much improved performance, Gerrard would not do well had he started, this is a fast paced game.

Decent game, no passengers for us makes a difference

Yes coutinho is good going forward but very good work defensively as well

Lallana is at best average but is also working hard

Sterling is poor. His runs are not positive and he second guesses too much and Fernandez is destroying him in close.

Can is having a nice time but the whole team works as Swansea didn't press up enough early and were happy enough to defend and that's why they have a bad record here at anfield.

Anyway important to state again no passengers tonight, a lot if work and defensive closing down going on

I still fear getting mugged off by our clownish defending which had I counted bony free three times in that period Swansea penned us in

Coutinho seems to play much better when Gerrard isn't on the field.

    Fancy keeping Jonjo?

Lallana and Coutinho are thriving in that position behind Sterling. They can drift wide if needed but can stay centrally a lot more due to the wingbacks. It means they are both picking up space in the middle.

Henderson and Lucas are doing a brilliant pressing job. That is what you lack with Gerrard as a deep MF.

Give us Siggurdsson and Bony and take Allen and Balotelli home with you, and we'll consider it <whistle>

Lallana has played very well, certainly wouldn't be wanting to move him on.

  15. Interesting words from Carra there. Basically saying Shelvey's a **** for throwing his arms about, match or training.

It just shows what having a left footer and naturally left sided CB on that side does. Where as Skrtel/Lovren/Toure would be passing with their right, the natural angle would mean they can't pass the ball forward as much as it would get cut out more easily by the winger (unless they went high which puts more risk on it).

Sakho on the other hand, can take it onto his left and actually pass the ball up the line. Add the fact he's the best CB with the ball at his feet (despite people still questioning him) and can see hoe effective he is by starting our first goal <ok>

He started off with some promise but he's a friggin liability. I crap myself every time he goes into a 50/50 because you don't know what he's going to do. He also drives me crazy looking for the Hollywood ball and slows our passing and moving down, similar to how you play when Gerrard is on the pitch.
Time for Jonjo to find a new club imo.
