Having 'fans' protests every other month can't be fun and he probably wants to avoid April. That's when he'd take the title of 'worst derby manager' ever. I remember the Newcstle chairman describing the job as 'one of the top 10 in world football' or summat equally stupid. The Mags lapped it up as usual ............ wonder how long it will be before they start naming top names on their board.
Even made the Sky news over here and they said talks had advanced to the compensation package stage but it did not say how much NUFC were willing to give Palace.
For the life of me I just couldn't work out why he'd swap Newcastle for Palace. But, if those rumours are true about him having a gambling debt to Ashley, then this would be one way of him paying that off, via the transfer fee. I've never really put much stock into those rumours, and they've never been reported in the press, and surely they would be if there were some truth in them, but, but, why the **** would he leave the mags, especially so being where they are at the minute, if there wasn't some non-football factors involved. It all sounds so odd, leaving the mags for a perennially involved relegation club.
It makes so much sense for McCoist to be going to the mags. Ashley's paying him being on gardening leave at Ibrox, might as well have him earning his brass at St James.
Agreed, but he's had them for a few years now. This is the first opportunity to leave with a transfer fee. Sounds suspicious to say the least, if only that it adds some weight to the rumours.
I hope Pards does leave, it'll badly affect the mags and may take him time to pull Palace around. Both scenarios suit us. I've never been one to slag him off. Probably one of the few northerners around who rates him as a manager.
Ashley will pee off to rangers and sluglips to palace leaving all the haters in turmoil imo Sometime you have to be carefull what you wish for
