No. We scraped wins left right and centre. Spectactular goals, Cisse and Ba and a makeshift defence sparing him!

Only in about 10 games in the last 4 years have we played good football!

As for Bobby, yes he was direct but he also played decent football the majority of the time and directness was just one of the tactics.

It must be down to good luck and f@ck all to do with Pardew that we are the Premiership's highest scorers off the bench this season.

Pretty much! No, this season he has started to make some good subs! But surely that in itself is a worry that we are constantly reliant on someone with fresh legs to save us!

Mate, honestly how would you feel if you were him, i took my hat off to him after he turned everything around, staring into the face of adversity he got the team up for it and winning when 10,000 stupid sackpardew sports direct leaflets were being made, then two ****ing ghosts appear with back from the dead, i would want the **** out anarl, gonna lose a cutthroat billionaire chairman and a (cringe) top manager within weeks of each other imo

So on top of everything that's going on, the Chron (probably in a desperate attempt to get viewers) has an "update" on Sissoko at 10:30pm. "So fcking what?" you may cry - is this something that might be about to happen which has again forced Pardew's hand?

Beardsley's the logical choice, with Ashley in charge, but I think he's far too nice a bloke to make it in the Premier League. McCoist could well happen. Shockingly.

If that`s another way of saying `cheap` I think you`re probably right.

All those fans wanting rid, Pardew out campaigns, posters and all the rest of it. Now he`s gone you should be pleased.

Main thing is, that the new manager, even if it's Pulis needs the fans to unite behind them. They will need to be given time and a fair crack at the job.

Won't/can't be Pulis, surely? He walked out of Palace in the first place because he wanted to be manager, not head coach. NUFC job IS a head coach!

I'm glad he's gone/going for the shame he's brought on our club.
I'm hesitant that a mid table manager has left a mid table club (us) for Palace.
I'm hopeful that we will get a modern manager in who give the fans a little respect and will play round pegs in round holes and conduct himself better off the pitch.
I'm fearful of Ashley's ability to mess things up.

I'll thank Pardew for the good times.
    Overlook the bad times.
    And look forward.

Now he's gone many will be pleased. Many of us were never is the sackperdew.com majority though, and are still not. I am disappointed to see him go. He wasn't a great manager but he was a decent manager who coped better than most would with conisitently having his best players sold from under him without it all being re-invested, and operating as the most profitable club in the transfer market over the course of his tenure.

The goal by Cisse in the 34th minute was the earliest we've scored in the league all season.
22 goals in 19 games isn't particularly great is it.

Well, for a dead cert (don't get me going on this old chestnut) this one has been hanging around a long time on Betfair. Usually by now the market is all sewn and it's all done and dusted.

It's been as low as 1.06 (1/13 if you must) earlier and now he's out to 1.12 again. The money on both side of the argument seems to have dried up which is, once again, making me wonder how much of what we're seeing is Scotch mist. The longer that this continues the less convinced that we've got a deal and that it's all sewn up.

I've gone in for another lay at 1.13 and leave it for the night. All of this talk of £2m, £2,5m and £3m compensation in the newspapers just isn't Ashley's style of doing business and it seems odd the way that this is hanging on.

Tomorrow's development could well be Ashley reporting Palace to the FA for 'touching up' Pardew.

I have a feeling that behind this is a very large fat man having a damned good laugh.

It's not like the guy's done a terrible job. He's just done average at best. And he's not really pleasant. And we do play some utter crap, 2nd half llast season was an abomination. The entire season before was a shambles. Then there's the derby, the unmitigated amount of absolute tankings we take (Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs, Southampton, Wigan to name a handful), plus some of the worst results we've ever seen (Reading, Brighton, Sunderland). I think on weighing it up there's far more bad than good, so below average is his rating. Whether that's HIS rating, or whether the club has a bigger issue is what will come out with the next appointment.

Good point and probably why Ashley could struggle to find a replacement. I doubt anyone decent would fancy that philosophy.

Somebody cheap and with no ambition would seem to suit him best.

The BBC have reported the two clubs are "in talks"? It's not quite a Twitter rumour!

Can only think of 4 goals we've scored in first half of games this season and 3 of them have been equalisers.

I'm going to be watching from behind the sofa to see how this one turns out. Under less unpredictable ownership I would be more relaxed about the situation. Under Ashley lord knows what is going to happen. For Pardew I think it is a good move. He was never going to win over a large portion of the support. Personally I think he has done a fair job under very difficult circumstances. It's going to require someone with a big pair of knackers to take this job if he does go.
