Barton should take the criticism on the chin. Particularly as he was utterly woeful yesterday. Every free kick or corner of his was clipped or floated in making it easy to defend against. And he very nearly cost us the game right at the death. It was another of his misplaced passes that set up Palace's last gasp attack and after Green had saved the shot, Barton attempted to take a touch rather than just hoof it out of the goalmouth, slipped and then upended Campbell.
Love him or loathe him, he has a point, although hearing him bleating on about it makes me cringe. But I take the point of many past QPR players who in the past have begged for fans not to boo as it's about as detrimental as you can get. Yeah you pay your money, you expect to be entertained blah blah blah. That's football, you pays ya money, you makes your choice. If you think your money's being wasted then you're supporting the wrong club! But as the past players have spelled out, as a pro footballer, you know when you're playing **** and having the fans get on your case will usually just make things far worse, firstly for the player and subsequently for the team. Some might not agree with that and feel they have the god given right to moan, but if you love the club then hearing from the horses mouth that jeering a player or the team makes things worse, then surely you don't do it? Places like this are the place to moan, many of you do, but doing it at a game just doesn't help.
Good post. If Barton had used your words then there might be more sympathy. He does seem to miss the point and stating that we're in relative comfort in the table highlights this. All those top teams we've played away have to visit LR and any wobbles in home form cause uneasiness. The first signs of dipping home form would be playing like we do away and that lacklustre passing and inability to create seems to be creeping in. You can't blame people for expressing frustration at failure to do the simple things - passing the ball successfully to our player who is 10 yards away and to maintain a good workrate for the duration - even if it is counterproductive.
I know, but sometimes as fans you just have to accept a **** game is a **** game. You quiet often find the performance fits the opposition, ie we play City and you get our best performance at home, we play Palace and we get our worst performance. If we could play half as well against the **** teams as we do against the worst, then we might actually become a good team, but at the moment we seem to struggle to carry on playing well when we play the lesser teams. Having said that we have won most of our games against our rivals in the bottom half and you can't wish for more than that. But ultimately we have to continue to play well at home and hope to turn some of the big teams over. Also we have to hope that now we've got the tougher away games out the way, we can now start to pick up the odd point away.
Never boo your team. Why be a fan. I know - you pay your money to boo or cheer. Boo the manager. Only effective booing I recall was Barton in the Liverpool game - turned our season around.
Whilst I agree that the fans should never boo the players, Barton calling some fans consumers in a dismissive way is what is so galling. I will have parted with a ****ing lot of money on two season tickets, travel, food etc by the time this season ends. I didn't boo, but I thought we were ****e. Does that make me a consumer and not a fan? Try playing a bit better Joey and stop believing that you're Xavi or someone!!
We thought Barton would get boos on his return - did not happen.... I sit with quite a few who would welcome him - and many who hate him...
Not a fan of his but his one quality is that he can be honest about himself. Can all of you who are putting him down for telling it as it is? Still, I suppose that's why we now sell out the home end each game. The few thousand who have suddenly discovered that they were Rs all along have filled our stadium up. When we have Tony's 40,000 stadium there'll be a lot more 'fans' or should I say 'consumers' who will feel entitled to boo the exact moment it doesn't go our way.
I don't and won't boo (even Barton when he is on the pitch) but given the garbage we have had to view over the last few seasons it's a credit to the fans and an indication of their blind (some would say cretinous) loyalty that we haven't heard a lot more booing. The support for the team this season at home has been absolutely outstanding. There was no booing when we were 2-0 down and looking rubbish against WBA, the booing on Sunday (from the Ellerslie Road stand according to my ears) was a response to 93 minutes of totally inept football which professionals should have been ashamed of. Barton shoud be apologising not having a go. I don't think there are many part time fans in the Loft, but even if there are I think its pretty churlish to criticise people who pay their money and turn up. Average home attendance during our Championship season (where we played some of the worst football known to man) was 16,665. I'd guess the gap to our capacity of less than 1,300 was often due to small away support. If you want to criticise have a go at the 30,000 part timers who suddenly had a pressing need to go to Wembley last May, not the 15,000 who are nearly always there. Of course a 40,000 stadium can only be even partially filled with plastics and through cheap seats, but thats not the fans' fault.
I think everyone could do with practicing a bit of "seeing things from others' perspective," including people here.
Have you got the thinnest skin on the planet Queens? I'm having a pop at Yorkshire, not the fans. But, for the record, for every hero like you who flew halfway round the world to go to that game, there were probably dozens more who live within 30 miles of LR and hardly ever go to a game. Good luck to them, no problem as far as I am concerned, except mild jealousy because I couldn't be there. I went years between 1999 and 2006 barely going myself. I probably won't be bothering with an ST next season, whatever division we are in. I can be stunningly hypocritical on many things, but not this one, I'm a part timer myself.

I have openly had a go at Barton at matches and to be fair he has a smile on his face when he last took a corner as I always shout Hit and Hope … he honestly has no idea where its going and at what height. He is lacking big time there IMO However no one should ever boo him about his effort in work rate it's outstanding shame he hasn't the talent but we all knew that when he came He was an aggressive midfield player who has seen his best days a long time ago. His positional play and decision making is very poor for all to see … thank god we have Henry because Sandro looks worse than Barton IMO
