Three games in a row that Toby gets my MOTM. (Although on this occasion, it is my Saints-only MOTM. Hazard really is a delight to watch). They all played very well though.
Yep, Toby and Jose were immense. Only blight was Tadic's set pieces again. We'll let him off cos the assist, but he really needs to sort it out.

Lie down! 8s to everyone. Maybe a 9 for Pelle, 7 for Long, Tadic and JWP. 7.5 for Mane. Forster didn't have to do anything so maybe a 6.
I thought it was one of Tadic's better games until he went off. It may have been decided beforehand that he'd only play an hour. We struggled as a side on the right. But Hazard was brilliant. Pelle put it a great shift for the side. Backtracked several times on the right side. Particularly after Davis went off. He was isolated and we were under immense pressure second half. It might not have been so apparent on the tv how much ground Pelle covered. Fonte and Alderweireld were immense. Mane was brilliant first half and our only threat. I do think that Long ought to have come on for Pelle, rather than Davis. We opened right up when Long replaced Davis. It would have been easier to play on the break with Long up top and Mane just behind. Mane didn't want to play a more disciplined role after being free all game to roam. Pelle had to order him to play in position after spending a few minutes on the right with Mane standing at striker!
Today was all about team spirit and togetherness, it was always going to be hard to push them back without Nat and Ryan not playing so instead we stayed solid in defence and looked for Sadio's pace on the break. Every single player put in a shift and so I would give a collective 9 for the team and the manager.

Not entirely happy about those Mirror ratings. How about Yoshida - played out of position yet just one error against one of the world's top players. I could go on.
I don't pay any attention to the Mirror ... they marked down Forster on Boxing Day because, wait for it, he kicked a post in frustration.
Mane a 6? Got to be joking, he was tremendous yesterday. And totally agree lff about Maya - he played out of position, made one mistake, even though Fonte was out of position, and looked assured. Whole defence was an 8 for me.
Agreed. I thought Yoshida played well. He is looking more and more confident on the ball with each game. He even managed to support a few attacks. And the goal wasn't only his fault, Toby ****ed up as well by lunging in.
