Shame we can never seem to attack like that in a Derby...

Probably in a minority of 1 here, but I think Janmaat has been well below standard recently. The number of times he's caught out at the back is ridiculous, and his attacking play has gone downhill. He's so predictable and he's been refusing to just get down the by-line and whip in a decent delivery like he was at the beginning of the season, he keeps cutting in and losing possession instead. Really frustrating because he's big, strong and has a decent right foot.

Alnwick is ok so long as he's under no pressure, but this has been a really rough ride for him when he's obviously unprepared for this level. Really harsh we can't get in an emergency goalie, really harsh. Weren't Man City in a similar situation once and they got "special dispensation"?

Onto the positives though, love Perez, he's such a skillful player, and the only real inventive spark upfront. Cisse is putting them away, which is a very necessary bonus for us, although it's a shame he'll be suspended soon (isn't he off to the ACoN soon though?!).

Tiote is really important, the midfield goes to **** without him in there, we really can't afford to sell him and not replace with at least similar quality, which we know won't happen.

The team look fit, no bad huffing and puffing despite the quick turnaround in games, certainly a good thing.

Oh, and we stuffed twatty Martinez, as Mrs Mag says! Honestly, they were utterly dirty today, so glad Cisse got his own back!

Sky are banging on about it again. Think they are making a mountain out of a molehill, but you just know tomorrow morning Papiss will get a hearing summoned.

They spoke of the referee looking right at it, the pictures show the ref looking right at it; isn't there some rule that says retrospective action can only be taken if the ref didn't see it?

Thats the **** they trotted out when McManaman got away with his assault, but they may have changed the rules since. I'm certain that this is the last we have seen of Cisse until February.

Can I just say, I'll legally change my name to Oscar Pistorius if Alan Pardew goes to Crystal Palace? Why are the bookies stopping taking bets?! WHY? It makes no sense. It's not even the first time! They stopped taking bets on that before Warnock got the job...

Why would a manager of a mid-table team go to Palace?! WHY? There's no logical reason. Just keep taking money off idiots!

According to the wise *ahem* words of Graeme Souness it could be because he was given such a hard time by the fans earlier in the season and the pressure got a bit much ...:emoticon-0114-dull:

Apparently Pards didn't come out to do a post match interview, so according to Sky, this has to be cast iron evidence that Pardew is off to Palace because he doesn't want to be asked about it in the interview ... :emoticon-0113-sleep

So there were have it, Oscar :emoticon-0105-wink:, seems cast iron certainty to me. I mean, Souness has to be right, surely ...... <yikes>

If Pardew did go to Palace from this job I'd streak naked down Northumberland Street with 'I Love Alan' lipsticked across my arse cheeks.

You've cleared that up lovely for me Mrs Mag. Now I know he's a shoe-in, I can start building the next manager effigy for burnin'. I'll just draw the face on after whoever gets appointed. That's what us Geordies do according to Sky :)

Hahahahahaha well that's virtually guaranteed it now!!!!!!

Good result in the end, glad I was wrong about the scoreline and glad I was wrong about Tiote. Had a pretty good game today, but trouble is that these performances are reasonably rare, we need more consistency from him. I am sick of just scraping games by the way, when was the last time we really put a team to the sword, dominated from the off and never looked like not winning? The defence is to blame for that, we always look like we could concede and I think we need at least another one centre back, probably two as well as a winger or two and another striker. (Ball playing centre mid wouldn't go a miss but being too demanding now)

I agree about being sick of scraping the games we do win, it would be fantastic to have that feeling that we are the only team in the race - and we haven't had that for some time. But I do think there were times today when we did at least take the game to them and had good spells of pressure going forwards. It is the sitting back on what seems to be a shaky defence at the moment when hearts go in mouths. When we were in their half and attacking we looked like we wanted to go forward, were looking for ways to play someone in and I felt confident, but the moment we sat back and invited them onto us, I felt very little c0nfidence at all! However think Williamson deserves a mention for playing the ball back to Cisse for the first goal.
