I would still say we should have done everything to have kept Shane Long. Yes, £12 million is an amazing offer for a player like that, but I reckon he'd have had more impact for us then Hernandez would. I'd also say we need a Henri Lansbury type (well, preferably the man himself) player who can split open defences and isn't afraid to shoot!
Hernandez really stood out for me - yes he fluffed a golden opportunity but he was there for the opportunity which Aluko or Rameriz up front never looked like they would. The diving header that hit the post was excellent and I really rated his work-rate and movement. Has to start the next game.
Hernandez. (Despite his blooper) Jelavic Brady Give the Hernandez/Jelavic partnership a chance ffs. No excuses for the poor team selection, again.
Significant praise for Hernandez from many. One bit of good news from the match at least. Dont want another NP.
Yes, I know. Most players I know would rather start, as to have 35mins in them will give them a half - he made one change at half-time, he isn't averse to the idea, he just has the wrong strategy. (To be honest I don't think he has a strategy)
Hernandez was ****. Weak as piss knocked off the ball all the time. Bit of a tart. I've had a ****ing nightmare trying to get logged back in!!
Hard to pick a top 3. Quinn was industrious and didn't do too much wrong part from the sending off. Livermore looked out of his depth at right back but did a good job when put back in the middle, at least that slap headed granddad stopped running the show with Jake in there. Should have started in centre mid without doubt. Bruce Jnr didn't too much wrong either. Just glad nobody has nominated Meyler. That might have caused problems.
Being a bit more serious Elmo proved a threat Davies had a very solid game Hernandez, even though he missed chances, might come good if given a decent run in the team. Most frustrating thing is the CM was crying out for Livermore much earlier. Leicester were awful and were there for the taking....
1. Bruce - so many crunching tackles 2. Elmo - played very well, needs to use his pace even more 3. Davies - won a lot in the air I thought there were going to be lots of people loving Quinn after today. I thought he was one of our poorest players. Leicester gave him so much time and space and he took about 5 touches each time and slowed our play - gave Leicester a chance to reorganise. The first true bit of urgency was Elmo's thow to Hernandez when he forced a save in the last 10 mins. Quinn pranced around the pitch and created nothing all day - we missed Hudd today.
