I thought I’d alleviate the doom and gloom and tell you all about my little dilemma.

There’s nothing I can do about it but I thought I’d get it out of my system.

Here goes, my little girl is starting reception in September, it’s a good school, the best in the area. Me and the missus are delighted she’s been accepted as it was our first choice. We went along to an opening evening, a sort of meet and greet to get a feel for the school, which I must admit seems excellent. The teachers are great; the facilities are second to none and the whole atmosphere is marvellous.

    THEN............they produced the uniform!!!!!

It’s R.................no, I can’t even say it, it rhymes with bed.

My wife keeps asking me if I like this cardie, this jumper, this dress, I’m having all on to stop the tears coming.

For 4 years I’ve managed to keep my little bundle of joy out of the dreaded ‘R’ colour and now she’ll be wearing it for 5 days a week.

I know this is very sad and I need to get over it but can anyone suggest how?

    I’m with Cosmito.

Same for me...the Spanish school the kids are at have to wear that colour...

i made it clear from the outset...blue and white or Yellow underwear and i wont wash it, dry it or iron it...and it has to come off the minute they get in and they must attend confession on a Sunday!

She looks so much better in white.

I suppose she could be a rebel and not bother with the uniform!!

Get her a little Leeds badge to wear on her lapel. Never wear red myself, and I don't care if that makes me a sad bastard!

    Thanks Mighty. Very constructive.

Would you wear claret and blue?

I had red on my tie at my first high school... but then at my second the tie was completely blue and yellow so I think that made up for it. I honestly don't have a single red item of clothing either, not even underwear.

Why would you not wear Scunthorpe's colours? Something to do with them and Millwall both being traditional lower-leaguers or something?

I mean look throughout culture, even Christianity. Red = Hell and the devil, White = Heaven and God.

I think it's more the pointed hoods that signify them though, don't the ones higher up wear different colours?

I think they probably do yeah. So that blows my attempt at a funny comment.

Incidentally I was forced to wear a Man U shirt for a friendly kick about the other day and it made me feel really dirty, and Im a Leicester fan, who has no reason to hate man u like you boys, so I can understand the OP's pain.

My heart goes out to Boris, hopefully time will heal his suffering. Patience is the key, he'll have to go through some bad times but hopefully he'll pull through.

No one should have to endure something so horrific.
