    Personally, although it sees Southampton relegated, I am more concerned about Pompey. So, I wouldn't take anything unless it was an improvement on last season. We have a brilliant manager and talented squad, potentially a very good squad - so 15th + only this season I'm afraid.

    Any thoughts? Just interested to get a general view :)

    I feel that, pending more arrivals, we should be pushing for a playoff place this time from the start. If we can sustain some of the good form from last season for a longer period of time, then theres no reason why we couldnt, just as long as we get more players in the squad, as that was our downfall last season. Altho, I reckon this season will be pretty darn tough.

    The Champioship must be one of, if not the most competitive league in Europe. Unlike the Premier League, none of us really know how things will shape up come May next year. The not knowing is what makes the Championship a magnet for fans who don't want to be fed the same predictable fair each and every season. It's a shame that the BBC, SKY and co don't pay more attention to it.

    I agree with bladderball, inasmuch as the Championship is a very competitive division, with good honest football played - none of the cheating, or histrionics of the Premier League, and certain players amongst them.

    Should surely be a very interesting season ahead, as long as we can add some more decent players to our squad.

    Wow, ahead of us alphabetically, & before a ball has even been kicked you'd take it. Saying that, if I were in your position, I'd probably feel the same. You are in for a horrendous season which undoubtedly will end with relegation, but if the new owner turns out to be legit, thats a small price to pay.
    Who owns the car park I hear you ask, I just don't know.

    I reckon next season could be a real cracker in the Championship. So many big clubs (and one or two minnows come up from the minors league) Who's to predict what might happen.
    We do a prediction competition for all the leagues and cup competitions within our group of lads and lasses at our local pre-match drinking establishment and this years could be the most difficult yet.

    Leading Fish- I have copies of the paperwork required,so if you're interested I'll get some to you (still going to the Beerfest at The Hampshire Bowman on the 23rd??)

    Who knows with Pompey?? I could quite easily see us top six or bottom six depending who comes in in the next couple of weeks.

    As much as many Portsmouth fans would like to see Southampton struggle, and vice versa, I would love it if both teams could truly battle for something other than avoiding relegation - realistically the main target for both of us during our recent spells together in the Premier League.

    I think that if we were battling against each other for a play-off position, or even automatic promotion, it make the whole thing that much more fascinating.

    It goes without saying that I would always want Portsmouth to come out on top, but having both clubs competing for success of some description (as opposed to avoiding failure) would be fantastic to watch.

    Blue there is no doubt about the rivelry between the two clubs...........How would it be if we shared the honors/......Under those circumstances, While I would prefer if we went up as champions, the greater delight would be the fact of promotion! It would make for good debate and banter and a shared excitement at the end of the season. Now there is a thought............

    I think a play-off final between Southampton and Portsmouth would be probably be the best game I have ever seen.
