Certainly things clicked throughout the team and it was almost a fantastic season, what's going wrong at the moment is a combination of that partnership being broken up and the inclusion of some new players. It certainly hasn't clicked.
You might well say 'yikes' - Pulis, no, never, no-how, no-way. He has teams of cloggers and that cap .... just noooooooooo. I would have Rafa back. I know all the stuff about you shouldn't go back but ... it's Rafa. Anyway as you said, Rodgers isn't going anywhere for a while yet Agreed.
I've just got sacked after reading this comment! I stripped off and ran naked around the office before punching a wheelchair bound old lady in the face because I thought the world was about to end
6 of the starting line-up on Saturday weren't at the club last season. It's a disappointing start to the season, but hardly a surprising one, given that degree of change. I'd have hoped they'd click straight away, but it looks like it's going to take time. If, and how quickly BR gets this lot sorted is a measure of his credentials- whether or not it was just luck last time around. As for Marky, it's too early. Too early to burden him with a lot of responsibility and too early to write him off.
We need to get Suarez to **** on the Pope's head or piss on the Queen's hat to make himself a total pariah, so that Barca would beg us to swap him back for Markovic. And then I wake up. Sigh.....
So after the first half of the season, with a slow start for Lazar, I was wondering what your thoughts were on his recent play and whether he should continue to feature - and if so, where? Will Sturridge's return mark the end of two wingers?
I don't think Sturridge's return will see us revert back to two up top unless we either sign another striker that Brod dare not drop or rotate with Danny, or Brod decides Balotelli is the next best thing to sliced bread again. However, I do think Sturridge's return will effect Lazar more than anyone else. Sterling will get pushed out wide in his place.
i dunno.... for me there is a few questions here 1. formation. 4-1-2-1-2 is certainly possible with SAS, so is 4-3-3 and frankly so is 3-4-3 2. who gets dropped? lallana, coutinho? thats who in my mind gets shafted for sturrdige tomorrow. i think niether are much good right now 3. finally it seems to me its markovic OR lallana which is a bit nuts given the costs.

Sturridge is better as part of a front 2 rather than up on his own. Wouldn't mind seeing Sterling continue uptop with Sturridge alongside to be honest.
Against Spurs Balotelli was pretty good. Wasteful but overall good. I think that system is worth another go once Sturridge is fit.
Sterling offers far more than Balotelli does up front so if Rodgers wants 2 up top, Sturridge and Sterling it should be. Still don't like the idea of a professional striker being paid a fortune who can only play in his favourite position so long as someone is standing next to him to do all the work. It also means we're screwed every time Sturridge gets injured because Mario basically can't play - although there's only one game of evidence to suggest he can even play as a two...
There are a lot of strikers like that though. For example, you would never stick Bergkamp and Zola up front on their own with no one around them... you put them with a partner. Balotelli isn't a bad player he just doesn't fit the way Rodgers wants to play. That's not Mario's fault, he didn't blag hi way to the club via an interview ssaying he ca chanse defenders all day long etc. Rodgers ****ed up buying a CF that doesn't fit how he plays and has had to drop him.
Zola and Bergkamp were very talented players though who would sit behind the number 9 and link midfield to attack, creating space, finding space...frankly, doing everything in those little pockets. They serve a clear, effective and influential role in the team. Balotelli does none of that. He wants to get the goals of a number 9 without making the runs or getting in the box. He like to take the ball like a target man but doesn't lay it off and instead prefers to ping it from 40 yards. He likes dropping deep into the pockets around the box but doesn't look up enough to make anything happen with the ball. I agree he can't play the role on his own, but these days in football you need to offer much more as a player to the overall game. I think his attitude and approach to football is awful and will never improve. Rodgers did **** up buying him, however persisting with him is not the right way to go - unfortunately, Rodgers' ego won't allow him to flog him after a few months and accept a mistake.
If Sturridge was injured Origi could play. Ideally I'd like to see us with 3 strikers who are ideal for our system, two who are experienced but still fresh and one who's younger but ready to come straight in, and an alternative style striker, for example a strong target man, so that our squad has some flexibility. We have Sturridge, and Origi is like a younger version of Sturridge who's able to come in. Now we need one more like who can play vertually every game if need be. Lacazete would be perfect. The other striker could be Lambert (short term option) or Balotelli (if his form improves). Alternatively we could look at some one like Llorente or Huntelaar. This is a tough signing to make as the player will know they will not be first choice plan A, so an older player like Lambert is probably the best bet.
I would actually say we have sturridge who is made of glass and a kid called dick orgy who god knows how he'll play and is having a terrible time on loan.... therefore i agree we need a top buy to play NOW.. not in 3 years... NOW. balotelli is a stupid waste who should cost someone their job and i still don't get why the f we loans out one turd in aspas and then bought in anothe rin lambert... who the f thought that was right! yes aspas had to go but lambert offers f all. llorenta and huntelaar are gone imo however... c'mon!
Which is another great reason to sack Rodgers and the committee We have a massive gal to 4th to make up and we go think a child who's playing games with his current club to engineer a move is the way to go when too top players might be available for not much more
Still wondering about this committee nonsense, who's to blame for Badon, I say committee. After Suarez funds were made available, am sure Rodgers had targets and am also pretty sure the club said no. Fire the committee and let him sign players he wants. He had the right players last season and we played some of the best football in Europe last season. So, get him the right players or get off the pot.
